PrairieQueen, good job on losing those extra vacation lbs! It rained here last night. Did you get the rain too?

Lost 2.5 lbs overnight! I don't know how many more lbs of water weight I have to lose, but I would love to hit the 170's before the whooshes stop. I'm not holding my breath though. I'm just thankful to be back in the mid-180's and not so close to the next decade up!

WeeK 1:
6/12--188
6/13--188
6/14--188 (Back on the wagon!)
6/15--187.5
6/16--185
6/17--
6/18--

Breakfast:
2 fried eggs
2 sausage patties
Fage yogurt with Mio
Mio water

Lunch:

jacqui good going on losing that water weight. I lost another 0.8 overnight and have three to go to hit pre-holiday weight....those starchy carbs do it to ya! It seems like all I had over there were chips (fries), bread, pasta, and alcohol. I'm back on the wagon and it's coming off thankfully. I'd like to lose an additional ten pounds before school starts back up. It did finally rain here last night...yeah for my garden. I weeded for an hour this morning but got too hot and muddy, so I'm in until after dinner, except for a trip to tractor supply for dogfood. Oh, the glamorous life I have!

Hi everyone! I plan on finishing The Paris Wife today before I start cleaning the dining room properly. Have a great day.

Yay for the weight loss, both of you! I am also down a lb overnight, which means I lost the 2 lbs I gained last week. Two more to go to get back to my ticker. My very best friend from high school was recently diagnosed with diabetes. She has decided to take it seriously and has started counting carbs. I feel that she will show a good weight loss from this, and I can't let her get ahead of me. I am not usually competitive with anyone, but I am competitive with her. I can't let her lose more than me. LOL So the race is on! My blood sugar has been so amazing the past couple days. I'm actually in shock. I wonder if this new med I'm taking for my BP is doing something? Whatever it is, I'm happy about it, and have been able to cut back on my diabetes med...the one that causes weight gain. AND, somehow my psoriasis is looking better these says. I wonder if my doctor finally prescribed a wonder drug?

to Everyone!

Just back from my week away, and I've skim-read the posts I've missed. Good luck and big hugs to everyone for weight losses and medical tests

So, I Did Not Cheat Once while I was away! Yay me!

It was fascinating how much of being on vacation is tied up with food!:
I constantly had to stop myself buying icecream - not that I really wanted one, it's just "what you do" when you're away at the seaside.
I would normally have stopped on the drive home for coffee and cake - but I didn't. Just as well, the roads weren't that good, and a 3 hour journey took 4....
I was staying in a b&b, so I had to find other food apart from breakfast. The b&b breakfast included "full English" but whereas others in the hotel had fruit and cereal and limitless toast and preserves to go with their English, and thus didn't eat much for the rest of the day, I didn't, so definitely did more meals later on. Fortunately, the landlady was happy for people to bring takeaways back and eat them in the dining room.

Fortunately, I'm not much of a Drinker, and normally just have fizzy water with meals. Last time I was down, I had quite a few hot chocolates with cream, just for a change, and I missed them a bit; I couldn't even have cream with the coffee, because milk is the norm here, and any cream on hot drinks is usually the squirty (sugar-added) kind.

I haven't weighed yet, although my leather belt, which was on the 6th (tightest) hole at the start of the holiday now could do with an extra hole; last month, when I'd been in Germany for the same length of time, it had gone out to the 4th hole, so I'm hopeful. However, I wasn't in my own house/bathroom/scales this morning, so decided to weight; maybe even until Sunday, as I do find travelling can increase my fluid retentiveness, I can see it in my ankles. Definitely don't want to weigh water!

Good luck, all

Morning all!

Rosinante good going on the "extras." It's difficult to stay on plan while traveling unless you rent an entire condo or flat. I thought I was being good but obviously not....I was up over five pounds. Almost three are already gone after a week, so I'm not too depressed. .... It was def mostly water weight from flying. Here's hoping that the scales are kind when you do step on them.

Carol Sue there's nothing better than a little friendly competition to make things happen great news on another pound gone and the blood sugar! That's the best part.

Jacqui hi! You are so busy......I thought my summers were full see ya later.

Rennie where are you? We need you on here to mix things up. People are bored with my garden and meal updates! Hiding doesn't make the pounds go away.....

Yesterday....
Break - Amy's bean/cheese burrito
Lunch - garden salad w/bacon, lime dressing
Snack -pineapple
Dinner - pork loin roast w/white wine & asparagus sauce, roasted sweet potato wedges, and a tiny dab of pasta

Rosinante, I am not getting on the scale for a while because I am concerned that a couple indescretions might have caused me to regain those 2 lbs. I know I should face the facts, but it just depresses me so much, I will wait until my rings feel loose again before weighing. Some people weigh every day, but then take an average for the week. I hope you drop that 1.9 soon!

Jacqui, I look forward to seeing the menus even though I don't post mine. I can't imagine posting all the things I ate at the casino buffet yesterday. I usually jut have meat and veggies, but yesterday I had 1 small scoop of mac and cheese and a small baked sweet potato. That sweet potato tasted so good as I have not had one for ages. I took the smallest one they had. They are a very healthy choice, but carbs all the same. I did not get a big blood sugar spike from it, but it probably didn't help my weight. When it's all said and done, weight loss is the main goal. I like getting my blood sugar down but weight loss would help with that and a few other health issues.

PQ, very good advice to Rennie, and any others who might be hiding. You have set a good example by losing your small gain from vacation. You are proof that you can lose weight eating a balance diet, although I do understand that it might not work for some others.

Lol, PrairieQueen, we are not bored with your garden and meal updates, but I agree that Rennie does need to come back to us!

I was gone all yesterday to a summer basketball tournament out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a box of protein bars and a small cooler full of Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper! When we finally did reach a place to eat, it had fried food and I had chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Not a great day of eating! Ugh, I just weighed myself and I am back up to 188. And today is Carb Day. That means I'll need to take it easy today on Carb Day (which I should do anyway)!

Carol Sue and Rosinante!

Carol Sue, posting my meals helps me stay accountable, but it's not always fun (like yesterday), lol!

Evening all!

Jacquemozzarella sticks and chicken tenders sound sooooo good!

This weekend has been super so far. Last night, we went to the third Friday party in the city center to see hubs' friend performing in his band. The theme was jazz and wine, but in reality it was blues and beer. I had enough of a calorie deficit to have two pear ciders. Today I ran errands and stayed OPand I was down a bit on the scale......slowly but surely.

My youngest (there are four) UK sister-in-law was inspired by my weight loss and went out and bought a Fitbit and is embarking on her weight loss journey! She's talking of visiting us next summer .

I bought a rosemary plant and a lemon thyme as well, because I don't have enough stuff in my garden already, but I didn't go near it today.

Tomorrow, hubs and I are going on a three mile hike and picnic at our fave spot in a state park about 15 miles away. We haven't been in years!

Break - Irish banger, tomatoes, mushrooms, sourdough toast w/Irish butter
Lunch - one piece of homemade pizza
Dinner - Tuscan garlic chicken w/linguine
Snack - two bourbon and sparkly lemonades

Good luck for the day to come!

Well, some went up, some went down, and I'm still afraid of knowing. LOL Blood sugar is still good and I don't know why, but I do seem to have lost my appetite a bit lately. Don't "feel" thin, though. Today I will be making lasagne. I haven't made that for a long time. I hope I don't go hog wild with it. One serving, with a salad. Good plan, if I follow through. I could take out the noodles and just scrape the filling out of it, but naw, I'm not going to do that!!

4 more days after today and I find out what the doctor wants to discuss. I am still feeling OK so I feel that it's going to be something really stupid. DH, who is a natural pessimist, thinks I will be going across the street to the hospital. He told me it's because of all the eggs I eat. We will see who's right. Anyone want to make wagers? LOL

Today when I was filling my pill box, I noticed that one of my new meds is labeled "may cause dizziness" so that explains the occasional dizziness I've been having lately. I was worried that it was an indication of an additional problem. It's minor...just a couple seconds of lightheadedness here and there. I will have to read online and see if that is something that goes away after a while. I hope so.

Yay Rosinante on the vacation water gone! I had a 1.8 lb loss overnight as well. I'm back to pre-holiday weight which is 2 lbs higher than my pb listed under my name. Hubs had a pb this morning .... He's so excited and motivated now.

Carol Sue that is wonderful that you continue to have good blood sugar. And the lasagne sounds good as well. I've got one in the freezer calling out to me. I always have two pans of it when I make it up and hubs dies live any pasta with a red sauce.

Jacqui, Rennie, pattygirl hey there!

We did our hike and had a picnic after...it was very nice I bought one of those car refrigerator things that you plug into the cigarette lighter a few months ago after seeing our friends' in France. They do a lot of market day shopping and don't always come straight home.....they work brilliantly! I made cold Philly cheese steak wraps and packed apples and water. I plan on working in garden after dinner tonight to work off the fried wings I plan on making. My neighbor and I are going to do a walk on a local trail in the morning and then back to my house for lunch....afternoon I'm visiting a friend from work to pick up some of her farm fresh eggs.

Last night I was up for two and half hours with allergy symptoms. I don't know where it came from unless my male cat (who was sleeping close to me) wallowed in some ragweed during the day and brought it to me. I took a Zyrtec finally and got back to sleep eventually.

Break - banger, piece of bacon, piece of sourdough w/Irish butter, roasted tomato
Lunch - Philly cheesesteak wrap, Apple
Dinner - (hopefully) wings and mushrooms cooked in the deep fryer outside.
