PrairieQueen, I'm sorry you still don't feel well. Hopefully today's rest will help! :getwell:
Wurdnerd, yum! Your recipe for cubed chicken thighs sounds good! :hungry: Mars, yay on the weigh-in! You'll be in the 160's in no time! :carrot: I hope you're right and I'm in the 170's for good now. We'll see! :crossed: SeeMyFeet, I love oatmeal! Unfortunately, on my diet, I can't have it unless it's Carb Day, but cinnamon-brown sugar oatmeal sounds so yummy! I will say though, a big perk to my diet is not having to count calories, so I never have to worry about how much butter I use! :cp: Good morning Carol Sue, Rennie, Chickadeee, Mary and FinallyFree! Have a great day! :sunny: Miss you, Bewildered! Week 18: High 190.5, Low 186.5 8/30--190.5 8/31--189.5 9/1--188 9/2--187 9/3--188 9/4--187 9/5--186.5 Carb Day Week 19: High 186; Low 183.5 9/6--186 9/7--186 9/8--185 9/9--184 9/10--184 9/11--184.5 9/12--183.5 Carb Day Week 20: High 184, Low 180.5 9/13--184 9/14--184 9/15--182.5 9/16--181 9/17--181.5 9/18--181 9/19--180.5 Carb Day Week 21: High 181.5, Low 179 9/20--181 9/21--181.5 9/22--DNW 9/23--180 9/24--179.5 9/25--179 9/26--179.5 Carb Day Week 22: 9/27--179.5 9/28--180.5 9/29--179 9/30--179 9/1-- 9/2-- 9/3-- Today's Meals Breakfast 2 fried eggs 2 slices of bacon Fage Greek yogurt with Mio Mio water Lunch: Fage Greek yogurt with Mio Mio water Snack: Dinner: @ local sports grill with friends Large salad with grilled chicken, craisins, and ranch dressing Mio water Today's Exercise: None |
We took our shelter rescue dog to the groomers for his first haircut. She has been grooming our dogs since 1981. He was there 5 minutes before she called and said to come get him. He freaked out and she couldn't do anything with him. She recommended another groomer who is supposed to have a good record with hard-to-handle dogs. We stopped in and talked to them and we have an appointment for noon tomorrow. They practically guaranteed that they will be able to groom him, but I'm not holding my breath. I might have to buy lots of Nair! LOL
Mars, I always heard that you weigh less before your body gets moving and starts to accumulate fluid, but I can remember when we had a weight loss program at work, I would weigh less at 10 AM than I did at 8 or 9. |
Jacqui, it wasn't bad. More like calorie cycling since I ate with Rissa on Saturday. Sunday I had to reel it in and Monday was almost at 1000 and yesterday was OP. I'm still adding things on today :) So I'm good :) I use to like to watch the tinfoil on the Jiffy Pop also like magic :D
PrairieQueen hope you feel better soon  Carol, The best thing I've had in my eggs is yellow squash, zucchini and onion  so so good :) LOL I don't like the last of anything, even at the grocery store (my kids think I'm nuts) but I will clean a plate ;) Oh my Nair for the pup ... Carol, that type of weigh in will happen with me only when don't eat or drink during the next few hours :) like extra exercise in the movement sends the scale down :) Mars how on earth do you under carb? You will have to teach me that one. Is your food diary open? Mars, nope I've never seen the documentary and I am ready when you are. I'm nervous about this next phase of the diet so you will catch me fast for sure :) SeeMyFeet, hope you have a good day  wurdnerd, that recipe sounds tasty  my son ordered sesame chicken yesterday boy did I want some, but I was good :) weight stayed the same today 169.8 we shall see how I fair tomorow :crossed: calories are good Jacqui :) |
Oh my, I just found this website on Pinterest. She has all kinds of low-carb recipes! Have any you wonderful cooks/bakers made this paleo-bread before? It's made with almond and tapioca flours and it looks scrumptious! http://lexiscleankitchen.com/2014/08...andwich-rolls/. I had to get off the site though. The sweet stuff, even though low-carb, is like a trigger for me!
Carol Sue, that's too funny! What kind of dog is he? The other groomer must be a kind of dog whisperer! :D Rennie, I'm glad to hear that your calories are good today! :cp: Carb cycling is not bad as long as you have "up" days! |
Jacqui I had one 1700+ calorie day and one almost 1400 calorie day :)
my kids are eating mashed potatoes, I am about to lose my mind :dizzy: :lol::cry::eek::love::T |

The owner and her husband assured me they will be able to groom him. I want to see this. They said I can be there when they do it. The Humane Society told us he was a Terrier Mix, but I think maybe they meant Terror! I don't know what to do. He really needs a hair cut. DH is willing to trim him, but he has some matted places that need professional help.

Rennie, good job on the calories! Oh my, yes, mashed potatoes are a big temptation. I hope you were able to resist! The 160's look awfully good on you!
PrairieQueen, bless your heart, I hope you feel better soon! Carol Sue, Terror Mix, lolol!! Oh, I can't wait to hear the rest of this saga! |

(An overly emotional exchange with a coworker with lots of foul words, fortunately, not directed at me.) I'm rather proud of myself in that I didn't turn into mush during the long time it took to understand I was not the actual target of all that anger. And I managed to squeak out a laugh from the other person.....eventually. Drs. appt was fine. The RA is still in active phase, so I'm being moved up from meth to heroin......ANYthing to avoid the crippling pain from last spring! |
:wave:I'm running late, so just a quick hello all around.
Yesterday was a high protein low carb day for some reason. B mushroom omelet, whey shake, skin from grilled chicken (they were on sale and it's too good to toss). L salad, chicken, beans WF dressing (sugar free but not at free--ordering mistake) S 2 B-up bars from the travel stash in trunk of car :o Rennie, I gotta say I love the PBJ & choc mint! I don't think they are that sweet, but then nothing is too sweet for this gal :) D chicken breast, turkey chili. Too tired to cook veggies. MFP says about 1550 cal, 55 net carbs, 200g protein yikes! I love protein, but my brain will start to sputter on too low carb. MFP has helped me pinpoint my minimal carb rq to function well, no less then ~ 75 net. My liver can turn anything into glucose to stay alive but there is a minimum need for carbs in the diet. It's different for everyone. I am mentally sluggish and extremely moody if I go to the keto level that suppresses appetite, darn. I lost a lot of weight by staying under 30 net carbs, and since then have used MFP to see how low I can tolerate and still feel ok. Rennie my MFP diary is open, under same user name. I often delete things so as not to have too many things to sift through in my menu database. I'll leave as is for now. I hope you survived the mashed potatoes. But if you enjoyed some, no worries, today is a new day. You are doing fantastic! How would it be to see who can lose the most by Sat am, 10/31? (But only if it's motivating & fun)! |
Mars, good menu! :cp: But I hope you get the carbs you need to keep thinking clearly!
Lol, SeeMyFeet, meth to heroin, girl you are too much! I'm sorry your RA is still flaring. Good job keeping it together yesterday through the email drama! I'm down a lb today! :carrot: That's a great way to start October, but I won't get too excited. I know the 170's are tough for me. I bounced around like crazy in this decade last time, and even before that, I always struggled to keep away from the high 170's. It's like my body wants to land at 177-178 and stay there. I expect no different this time! But I'm here to fight this battle, so bring it on, 170's! :club: Week 18: High 190.5, Low 186.5 8/30--190.5 8/31--189.5 9/1--188 9/2--187 9/3--188 9/4--187 9/5--186.5 Carb Day Week 19: High 186; Low 183.5 9/6--186 9/7--186 9/8--185 9/9--184 9/10--184 9/11--184.5 9/12--183.5 Carb Day Week 20: High 184, Low 180.5 9/13--184 9/14--184 9/15--182.5 9/16--181 9/17--181.5 9/18--181 9/19--180.5 Carb Day Week 21: High 181.5, Low 179 9/20--181 9/21--181.5 9/22--DNW 9/23--180 9/24--179.5 9/25--179 9/26--179.5 Carb Day Week 22: 9/27--179.5 9/28--180.5 9/29--179 9/30--179 9/1--178 9/2-- 9/3-- Today's Meals Breakfast 2 fried eggs A slice of ham Mio water Lunch: Chili Mio water Snack: Dinner: Loaded cheeseburger salad Mio water Today's Exercise: 2.4 miles at the walk park |
Partial success last night BEFORE I even sat down to dinner! This morning I'm almost back down to my pre-episode weight. It's harvest salad again for lunch today (but no beans.....I'm at school :) )

Thanks Jacqui I needed that reminder. I'm getting anxious about getting the up lbs off before vacation, but restricting like that never turns out well. Congrats on new low. Your weight is sinking like a stone!
|
We are home and the dog haircut when fine. He was a little nervous, but they were very gentle and patient with him. So we have found a new groomer.
|
Mars, I'm sure you've told us before but when is your vacation?
Carol Sue, yay! I'm so glad! I wonder what it was about the old groomer that made him so nervous. In any event, that's great news, and I bet he feels like a whole new dog! ;cp: |
