Rennie, I want to hear how your muffins turned out without the splenda. I don't like a sweet taste, so maybe I would like them without sweetener. I used to make bran muffins using Quaker Oat Bran and I loved them, but I can't find Quaker Oat Bran anymore. I think they still make it, but I can't find it in my area. I tried the same recipe with some other oat bran and they weren't the same.

Mauvila, what brand of oat bran do you buy?

love2b150 09-28-2015 02:24 PM

Carol, they didn't turn out bad at all. They are actually good to me so I won't be adding the Splenda. I used the Quaker Oat Bran, but that is all gone now. My Mom bought the Bob's Red Mill for me so I will be using that the next time. I have two left so when they are gone I'll make more. :) I have only been able to find the Quaker Oat Bran at some Food Lions. Not all of them carry it. Oh I hope mine turn out the same since I do like them. :crossed:

I wish I could get Quaker. When I checked online it said that Giant Eagle has it, but I checked the 3 in my area and none of them had it. I used to make the recipe that was on the box, but that had a lot of sugary stuff in it. Now I have a box of Hodgson Mills in my cupboard, but I think that's the one I tried and didn't like it. I don't even know how old it is. LOL I read that Bob's makes one that's gluten-free also. Not sure what I will do, but I would like to try these.

I found my Dukan book. I don't know if I will try it again.

I too use Bobs Red Mill, but I just bought 2 packages of the Dukan Brand Oat bran that I am eager to try.

I tried the Pizza recipe (Cruise phase) they had on the site and it was delicious! I will definitely be making it again.

Carol I think I'm gonna make a batch now, while I still feel like it. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Chubbysmall, where did you find the Dukan brand? And I move on to Cruise tomorrow, if I fully get through this last day of Attack. I'm a little scared/nervous. That was my down fall the last time on Dukan. I'm looking forward to trying more recipes. Especially when they are filling and healthy :)

My Stats so far ...

Attack #1 ~ 25 ~ 172.4 (-0.4) 1.59 miles, 30:21 min, 3.5 incline, 2.5-3.2 speed
snack with daughter ~ 26 ~ 173.9 (+1.5) weight up only 4 hours of sleep/no treadmill time
Attack #1~ 27 ~ 172.7 (-1.2) 1.51 miles, 30:02 min, 3.5-4.0 incline, 3.0-3.2 speed
Attack #2 ~ 28 ~ 170.3 (-2.4) 1.53 miles, 33:15 min, incline mainly 4.0 decreased to 3.5, 2.5-3.3 speed
Attack #3~ 29 ~ 169.8 (-0.5)
30 ~

down 4.1lbs the Dukan website said I would be down 2.8lbs on 3 days of Attack.

I got my Dukan oat Bran right off their site at http://www.shopdukandiet.com/
I bought several things including some pre-baked cookies when I travel for a snack. The tomato sauce is also yummy and I use it as a pizza base.

I may order the vanilla muffin mix next because I found a great pumpkin muffin recipe for fall on the website.

My Cruise phase is set up like this:
My PP days are Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun
My PV days are Tues, Thurs, Saturday

I most frequently eat shrimp/bok choy stir fry, shirataki noodles with chicken cacciatore, or turkey with zuchini noodles on PV days. Although I also tried oat bran breaded tilapia over asparagus, dukan pizza, pumpkin pudding, and mushroom/spinach egg muffins.

Hey Dukan Dieters!

How is everyone doing? How has October been for you so far?

I notice this month is a lot more enjoyable with incorporating fall ingredients in dishes so I don't feel I am missing out. Here is some of the trades I am making.
Pumpkin Spice Lattes --> Pumpkin Spice tea with stevia
Pumpkin Pie --> Dukan pumpkin pudding recipe with a dollop of fat free whip
Pumpkin pastries --> Dukan pumpkin oat bran muffins

Next up is looking into some Thanksgiving recipes.

Hi everyone! Its been a while. Yes, like Chubbysmall I bought my oat bran from the Dukan website. But I've also used Red Mill and they taste exactly the same to me. I also bought the vanilla muffin mix from the Dukan website but hated it. It had a very strange artificial taste to me that I just couldn't stand.

Does anyone know if pumpkin is allowed? I'd love to add some pumpkin to the cinnamon muffins and make a pumpkin spice muffin. Pumpkin is my favorite! I found a delicious pumpkin flavored coffee - I just add stevia and skim milk and its "almost" like I'm at Starbucks.

Overall, I've been doing poorly up until 3 days ago. Whats interesting about this diet though is that I didn't gain back any weight over the past 3 weeks that I have been good only about 25% of the time. But life has slowed down a bit after that busy spell so I'm planning out my meals. Planning is key!

mauvila13 10-14-2015 11:07 PM

Just looked and it is! Pumpkin is allowed. Not sure how I missed that before. And I just saw Chubbysmall's post about substitutes. This is excellent news!

mauvila13 10-24-2015 10:50 PM

I'm losing motivation even though I have seen excellent results. Anyone want to do a November challenge?

chubbysmall 10-31-2015 11:16 AM

Mauvila13, it sounds like you may need to introduce some new foods/recipes to keep it interesting. I was getting bored of choc. muffins, so I introduced the pumpkin and goji berry.

I try and incorporate 2-3 new recipes a month to rotate in my eating plans to keep things fresh. The Dukan site has a turkey chili recipe I am considering since the weather is turning cold.

I am always up for challenges!

I tried a couple new delicious recipes so far this month and wanted to share.

Lemon Brioche
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/471189179742949081/

This was yummy....too yummy. Some nights I ended up having 2. I made some stevia yogurt with lemon juice and zest to serve with it. You could also use fat free cream cheese for a spread like topping.

I also tried Spiderweb pumpkin soup
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/471189179742949043/

I love warm soups during the fall, and these are really filling. I also make Dukan Toast to go with them at times for a bread/soup type feeling.

I made this after a very yummy but cramp inducing carrot/courgette/cumin soup didn't work out. It was awesome! However, I have some GI troubles, so its possible carrots are a trigger food for me.

Pumpkin soup and turkey chili sound amazing!

Holiday recipes guilt free

I am happy to share that you can have good food and not gain. I managed to get through Thanksgiving without skipping other meals or restricting.

Here is what I made:
Lunch: pumpkin bell pepper soup with fat free sour cream topping

Dinner: Herb roasted turkey breast slices
Garlic baked cauliflower mash
Dukan bread stuffing with chicken sausage
Sautéed green beans with turkey bacon topping

Dessert: Dukan pumpkin cheesecake slice with a dollop of fat free whip.

Yummy! Hands down the best stuffing ever, and cauliflower mash is even better than mash potatoes! Who knew?!

I can post the links to the recipes I used if anyone is interested.

Anyone interested in doing a February challenge??? I fell off the wagon big time...didn't gain anything but definitely no weight loss. I've been halfheartedly doing sticking with Dukan (about 50% of the time) but really need a kick start!

I've never done one of these challenges so not sure about the rules .

BTW, my mother started Dukan about a week after I did. She stuck with it this whole time and has lost 30 lbs. She is now about my size, which is an 8 and started at a 14. She is amazing and she now is essentially on the 3rd phase and is still losing.

She talked my brother (who is pushing 400 lbs) into it and he started this week.
