Mars and Jac: I guess that is what I have when I go to Burger King and order a burger, I don't eat the bun and pull everything out of it and cut it up and eat it with a fork, not to bad.

Jac: you are doing so good, and fine tuning as you go.

Mars: good luck with the stepper, I was watching videos on it today, a person can get a good workout with it, I need strength building and cardio. Plus I think this is something you could do while watching TV, it is quiet.

Jacqui, as far as I know, my elliptical is a regular elliptical, but it is a home model so it looks different from the ones at the gym or cardiac rehab. I googled crossramp elliptical but I don't understand the difference between the two. Mine doesn't bother my bad knee, but then I wear a knee brace when I exercise. It has adjustments, but I keep the incline all the way down.

Here's mine.

Mars
, I haven't had a blood sugar reading over 200 for several months. Normally in the evening it will run from 120 - 180 depending on what I've eaten. I can't wait to get my results from my bloodwork because I expected my A1c to be high, but the doctor didn't call, so I don't know.

I don't think I can continue on this plan. I know that the gist of the plan is to eat slow carb for 6 days then have a carb day, but after the 4th I realize it is not in my best interest to have carb day. It's just not suitable for a diabetic IMO. For now I am going to go back to what I was doing before, staying low carb as much as I can, but having small portions of fast carbs occasionally. If I don't start to lose, I will have to track calories and cut back somewhere until I start to drop.

Jacqui, I have no problem with changing the name of the thread. In fact, it will help me be able to continue to post with you guys even if I don't continue to have Carb Day. I think working some small portions of fast carbs in throughout the week would work better for me, as Mars suggested. Actually, that's what I was doing before. I wasn't losing weight and that's why I thought Slow Carb would be better, but can't continue that because of the blood sugar spikes. I think I need to watch my calories more closely, too. My WOE is more like CALP, eating some fast carbs at dinner a few days a week, but I also don't follow that plan exactly. I just want to have an eating plan that satisfies me and give me a healthy loss of weight along with good blood sugar.

The title can be anything you choose. The intro could say something like "This thread is for carbs sensitive dieters who are following various low to moderate carb plans. What plan are you following?" That way anyone who wants to join in can do so, regardless of what plan they follow. We could each comment on our individual WOE.

It's sad to see the Slow Carb thread end as it's a good plan for someone who does not have to worry about blood sugar spikes.

Actually, I lost the 2 lbs I gained from Carb Day. I have no idea how I did that because we went to the casino again yesterday for a free buffet and I ate big, but low carb. I would like to explain something. We are not gambling addicts. Well, DH might be, but I keep him in control. These casinos send us so many coupons for free or half price buffets, plus they give us free play every week. The idea is to keep you coming back. Sometimes, like yesterday, we go for the free buffet and just gamble with our free plan and leave. Yesterday was a good day. We each got $30 free play and came home with $250 of their money! And losing the 2 lbs made it a VERY good day. I am now a smidge over 200. So close.....

Carol Sue, your post made me laugh! We live about 25 minutes from a casino and we used to go there every Wednesday and eat at the buffet on half-price "senior night" (anyone 50 and over) and we'd always gamble a little bit, usually $20 at the slots, and of course any free play we might have on our cards when we arrived! If the horses were running, we might go out there for a few $2 bets. (Big spenders, lol!) We don't do it too much anymore, but we occasionally still treat ourselves to a Wednesday night out there. It's fun! I didn't think anything about it when you mentioned going to the casino!

I am working on the new thread right now and I think it's going to work out very well! I will still be outlining my slow carb diet for anyone who might want to try it, but I'd like for us each to tell what we are doing, so people can see that any carb-conscious diet is welcome and that they can use their own or try any of ours!

Carol Sue, my first thought was how to persuade you to keep posting here I think your & Jacqui's idea are great. In reality we each aiming for sustainable WOE and know we have to manage our carbs.

Btw I didn't for a moment think you guys were gamblers. Those buffets sound really fun! There's a casino here over an hour away...probably a good thing for me!

By the way, Carol Sue, here's a link to the elliptical that I use at the Y: http://www.precor.com/en-us/commerci...rosstrainer-33. I just noticed that according to this website, it goes up to a 20 incline, so 10 apparently is just the default and it goes higher. I lowered the incline to a 1 today and hated it, so I put it back up to a 5. I think I still like 10 better but 5 is probably easier on my knees, so I'll keep doing 5.

I want to remind EVERYONE, we have moved to this new thread: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/othe...e-dieting.html! Come join us!
