the belly fat cure or atkins
Hi! I've been googling and toying with both diets but haven't committed. I really just want opinions on which one you think is better and why? Having lost 30 pounds already I can't wait to lose the last 40 but counting calories just isn't working for me anymore.

I have read through both diets in the past few months. I know a lot of people who lost with Atkins, but they never felt well while I am on it. The other one sounds pretty good. My problem is momentum...wish I could stick with someone!

Yes exactly! Im worried about gaining on the belly fat cure! Since I travel alot n eat out alot (3 crunchy tacos from taco bell) is allowed :/ its a belly good meal...stuff like that makes me nervous! :/

I am a night time, boredom eater. I do great during the day, but not at night. I have some physical issues right now that hinder exercise (vertigo, sciatica) so I am really having to watch what I eat...and at night I fail at that.

Me too :( I need to conquer that :(

I just started following the Belly Fat Cure plan this week and I'm down 4lbs already. I've been amazed at how easy it's been-I've never been hungry, felt like I was on a diet, or had cravings. The plan really focuses on getting your sugar intake down and for me its been really eye opening to see how much 'hidden' sugar I was eating. I knew the candy, deserts etc I was eating was bad, but I had no idea that things like milk had so much sugar (12 grams of sugar for 1 serving!). Just by switching things up a bit I've seen definite progress already :) Also, The Belly Fat Cure plan is more lenient on carbs-you can have anywhere between 30-120 a day, and Cruise is not against grains and rice as long as you can fit them into the plan. So far I don't think I've eaten over 50 grams of carbs a day and I always eat until I'm full :) Now if I ate the full 120 grams of carbs everyday I don't know what it would do with my weight loss, but I'm finding that I can do the plan and be satisfied with what I'm eating at 30-50 grams. So if you did decide to try it you don't have to eat all the carbs. The biggest thing is the sugar-you have to keep it to 15 grams or less a day.

My biggest problem at the moment is sugar. I'm looking to lose belly fat (in the short term), but long term plan is for 6 pack abs. I did go sugar free a couple of times during the year, but I just can't seem to maintain it ... |

It turns out however that the drying process actually concentrates the amount of sugar in fruit meaning that little snack becomes the equivalent of just eating a couple of teaspoons of sugar! |
I have been on both diets and I have lost weight on both. I felt the Atkins induction period to be more "extreme" and you are trying to get your body into ketosis whereas with the BFC you are not. You are going to lose weight on both plans if you follow them. Basically both diets stress the same thing...no sugar, low carbs.....healthy grains. it is just the means you go about getting to that point are a little different. GOOD LUCK

After reviewing both diets carefully and the South Beach as well I decided to talk to my doctor and nutritionist. While none of the 3 are exactly the healthy balance that either of them would recommend in both cases The Belly Fat Cure was the least damaging considering my level of activity.
I'm fairly active for an American and VERY active for a big person. On so many of the diets I was struggling with lack of protein and my anemia. The Belly Fat Cure does a Carb swap which makes tracking easy and the low sugar guideline does help some with calorie control. (Not always because butter and cream cheese still exist) Some cool tips that are working for me Snacks: Hard Boiled Egg 0/0 great protein pick me up or addition to a meal if you're still hungry Multi-Grain Tortilla Chips and Organic Salsa 2/1 String Cheese 0/0 Franks Buffalo Red Hot Sauce: 0/0 Caesar Dressing (at least the one I use): 0/0 Entire Head of Romaine Lettuce: 2/0 (you can get 2-3 normal sized salads) 1 Tblspoon of Milk for coffee (or real cream) 1/0 Stevia in the raw is your friend for baking. |
