Nutritional Info
I decided to call the number on the side of the tiny snack-sized Reeses Fastbreak bar, to see how many calories the .67 ounce bar (19g) was.
Yikes! That tiny bar was 100 calories. So, I asked the Hersey Co. about a few of the other candies in the caldron at work, and I guess I'll be doling them out to myself at one a day for a while. The .6 oz (17g) peanut butter cup = 90 calories The .7 oz (19g) peanut butter cup with caramel = 95 calories The tiny .7 oz bag of Reeses Pieces = 95 calories My guess was way off, so dinner will be a little smaller tonight. Did anyone else collect some calorie info on any other Halloween snack-sized candies? Please post it here if you have any other info!!! Thanks, Rainy |
 I was looking up the same stuff this a.m. I wasn't too bad thank goodness!

I recently read this about M&Ms ...
1. Stand at one end of a football field. 2. Eat one M&M. 3. Walk to the other end of the football field. 4. You've just burned off the calories of your one M&M. 5. Repeat walking one length of a football field for each M&M eaten. :fr: Doesn't that make you think twice about popping those little    ? |
Holy :moo:, Meg!!! I had no idea those little :censored: had so many calories in them! :yikes: Well, that was all the motivation I needed to not go rooting through the left over candy!

I see that Jasmine must have bought the same bag of halloween candy that I'm now stuck with since we didn't get one trick or treater (new to the area and didn't know if we'd get hit or not).
I know myself well enough to know that I'm not even going to have one or I'm inviting myself to the whole bag. |
We went to the gym last night and then out for salad. That way, we didn't have to be home for halloween, didn't have to buy any candy, and have no leftovers!
|
OMG!!! You did that too?! I called that 1800 number today for those little Milky Ways! LMAO
|
You know how people bring their leftover Halloween candy to work (or make their spouses do it) so that they don't eat it? That was the situation at my work today. I resisted most of the items until they were gone, but figured "Oh, that little bar can't be too bad", and ate it, before calling the hotline, LOL.
For Halloween itself, on the years I give things out, it's not candy. I've bought a gross of little plastic spider rings and such to give out from the Oriental Trading Company or similar catalogs. Much less havoc with my eating that way. |
I have a part time job at a Halloween shop so I was SURROUNDED by candy! Luckily, when I went into work today the trickortreaters and other employees had already taken the majority of the candy.

You're welcome! Glad I can be a little ray of sunshine in your day. :lol3:

Heh. Actually, the only thing I can think about now is that M&M's equal a touch down... :D |

:o I got into the bowl yesterday. Then I sent the rest to work with DH and took some to my work! I have the kids' treats left but I was told that it is better to let them eat it in a couple days than to spread it out (Pediatrician told me this) And each will take a bite or two then throw it away! It should be gone by monday!

Thanks for the reminder! I haven't done anything with them for YEARS! That is a good idea. Besides, once you've given a ring or something out, they won't want to come back because it isn't candy. |
Anyone know what amount of calories are in a milky way fun size bar?
|
According to www.calorieking.com, 75.
|
oh, that's good to know. Thanks! That's not bad at all. So, technically I can eat a fun size bar a day and still lose weight providing I still eat right and in moderation. Hmmmm, good thing for that big bag of chocolate in the fridge.

It makes me want to go find a football field to see how many times I can walk back and forth, then go buy a bag of M&M's and eat that many! I can swim 2500 yards in any hour, so surely I could walk that far. Sure, it might take longer than an hour, but swimming is harder than walking so I'm sure I can walk as far as I can swim. A football field is only 100 yards, so surely I go make it back and forth 25 times. That's 25 M&M's. In fact, I know I can hike 5 miles on an incline, so I'm sure I could walk that far on a flat surface. That's 8800 yards, which would be 88 times back and forth across that football field. And it would probably only take me three hours (that's how long the 5 mile hike took, with a stop for lunch). That's 88 M&Ms! |
Ladies! Don't eat the crappy chocolate! One fun size Milky Way is 75 calories..not bad, but also not that decadent or satisfying (even though I love those stupid things!) I've been eating one square of the 70% dark chocolate expresso type chocolate made by Lindt. Its only 67 calories, and I can barely finish the entire square....
