any ideas to naturally boost metabolism through diet?
Just wondering if there are any foods out there that will naturally give your metabolism a little kick in the pants.

Any food that takes a bit of work for your body to digest, uses calories. Protein for instance.

Not a specific food, but eating every 2-3 hours instead of only a couple times a day is supposed to keep your metabolism working harder throughout the day.

Actually any kind of chile pepper will work. The hotter the better. Studies have shown that eating chile peppers will raise your metabolism for 3-5 hours afterward. There is even a Chile Pepper Diet book. My eating plan leans heavily toward Thai and Indian food for this very reason. (Plus I can't remember ever having seen an obese Thai person, so I figure something about their diet must be conducive to weightloss, lol) :D |
Pomagrated juice boost it alot, but its expensive. I went to go by a 32oz jug and it was $6.

1) eat breakfast
2) eat frequent small meals (steady intake of food keeps metabolism rev'd up higher/longer than infrequent meals) 3) exercise! 4) metabolism-boosters include lean protein, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cayenne/hot peppers, grapefruit, small apple/small pear, broccoli, [steel-cut] oatmeal, yogurt, fiber-rich veggies. 5) lots of water - 64oz per day - plus green tea. |
Oh my goodness, csoar2004. You amaze me. (sorry for bustin' this forum)
After looking through your pics I have to kudo your amazing journey. Until you told your age, I would never have guessed it! I'm 41 and you inspire me. It's women like you that challenge me and encourage me to be forever young! I wanted a scooter, but after seeing your bike - boy, would I enjoy that! Mmmmm, how to approach DH? I wouldn't mind seeing him back on a bike, as well. He stopped 16 years ago when our son was a baby due to a couple of close calls with autos. |

The best thing about riding motorcycles (aside from the sexy leather - heh heh) is that you MUST be 'in the moment' while you are riding and constantly vigilant. If you let your mind wander - you may die. Literally. Inattention can get you killed. Therefore - motorcycle riding really concentrates your attention. That's also the downside, by the way. Very tiring being constantly on alert for idiots in cars. ;) ....we now return this thread to it's original discussion. :D |
