A Question about Labels

Do nutrition facts labels always include all of the vitamin content of a product, or could the product also contain some vitamins and minerals in sufficient quantities that are not listed on the label?

I bought a jar of almond butter, the Trader Joe's brand, and I was in a rush so I assumed that even though the nutrition facts did not mention Vitamin E or Magnesium that it probably included them because most almond butter, and including much less prominent brands, contain a good amount of these and that is a large reason why people buy almond butter. I realized I was wrong to assume this of course and I of course called the store and they sent an e-mail to the corporate to ask this question. But I was wondering if anyone knew about labels not always including all of the vitamins and minerals in a product. I appreciate anyone who helps or tried to help.

Well, I'm not sure how much it helps, but I know Potassium isn't required. I asked one company about it, and they said they hadn't included it in testing. Good luck!!

Food products can and usually do contain vitamins and minerals that are not listed on the label. Food companies only list the information they believe their customers are interested in and what they're legally obligated to.

"Health Food" brands tend to list more information, but even so, I don't believe that any company lists "everything."
