vitamins

So im looking into starting taking a multi vitamin and was wondering if you ladies have an suggestions. I've never bought vitamins as an adult before lol and i know there are a ton of different ones. Some claim to help with weight loss, which i know theres no magic pill or anything but are these vitamins actually helpful to my weight loss efforts or is that just a sales gimic and its no different than any other multi vitamin?

Im not really sure where to start and was wondering if you ladies have any suggestions, or know of anything that i should specifically look for or avoid as far as ingredients and content goes.

I just take a simple own brand multi vitimin with iron. I also take an extra calcium and vitamin d supplement. The pharmisist recommended these as I wandering up and down the vitimin section looking lost!

But everyone us different - she asked a few lifestyle and health questions.

The quality of vitamins can vary widely. I like to take a food based one-a-day vitamin. I find non-food based vitamins make me nauseous.

I'd go visit your local health food store and ask them for brand references. I wouldn't buy vitamins at Wal-Mart or other similar places. The quality just isn't there.

I'd go with a one-a-day multi to start with. That'll cover most bases. I also like to take extra vitamin D and fish oil, but a good multi is a great start.

I use one-a-day women's multi-vitamin ( it has more calcium than the regular ones), and I also take Biotin, to promote healthy hair, skin and nails. :)

Vitamins are essential to good health. Vitamin A helps to develop and maintain body tissues such as bone and skin; it also helps the body’s vision, nervous system functioning, reproduction, and growth. The B vitamins are responsible for increasing the production of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates as well as assisting with metabolism, building red blood cells, and maintaining the protective covering of the nervous system.
Vitamins and minerals not only help the body function, but they work to strengthen each other.
you must always keep a check on adequate vitamin intakes..!:carrot:

I take like 20 different vitamins. But when I took a multi I noticed that when I took the gnc brand my pee was bright yellow. When I took a centrum or other store brand never noticed any changes. I don't know if this is silly but I just felt my pee turning yellow kinda let me know I was absorbing it better. I also love the liquid multivatim. ( makes my pee yellow lol) I had to try a few brands but found a yummy one I wanted to drink extra of.

I take Vitafusion Gummy Multivites because I have trouble swallowing large pills.

Another vote for gummy vitamins, but only the vitafusion ones. The other brands I've tried have been super chewy and tough, and just generally unpleasant. My stomach is really sensitive to vitamin pills (they make me nauseous and make me burp a lot!) but I never have that problem w/ gummy vites!
