Cracking coconut - questions
 

I bought a coconut and after i cracked it open, and pulled pieces from the shell, I scraped off the thin brown rind and on the white meat of the coconut is light brown spots. I tried to scrape the surface but the spots go deeper than just the surface.

Is this mold? I just opened it today so I would appreciate if someone could get back to me ASAP so i can return it to the store if it's bad.

the water inside smelled fine and no mold on the outside.
