I take Vitamin D, at the recommendation of my doctor & my mom who is a nurse. I take 2,000 mg of D3 once per day. Mom wanted me to start a little higher, but I haven't gone that far yet. DH has been taking it, too.

It is supposed to help with all kinds of things. Immune system is the big one that comes to my mind.

I got my most recent ones on a heck of a sale at Publix of all places, I've seen them at Trader Joe's as well.

It is also supposed to help with weight loss, but haven't been able to notice yet. However, last year I went from the blood level 23 to 60 (everyone should get the blood tested) and noticed some amazing effects. First, my body temp went up... a lot (from an average temp of 97.9 to 98.4-8) and my cold sensitivity went away. My theory has to do with my body getting more calcium due to the D. Also my vision has improved. I was STUNNED to find out that it is well known in Korea that their major nearsighted / myopia problem is caused by vitamin D deficiency.

I went to see a movie and noticed I couldn't see much difference between no glasses and glasses. I also have noticed better ability to see at night while driving without glasses.

I don't remember the entire conversation but the techs in our little hospital who do bone density can clearly see improvement in folks who take a D supplement.
