This Weeks Healthiest Food - WALNUTS

    Love em, but just like the Healthiest Food we had a few weeks ago, the almond, I need to stay away from these, for the most part. Too caloric.

    My very favorite way to eat them was (is) in a chocolate, very fudgy brownie. The combination of the 2 is fabulous. But of course, that doesn't happen too often - any more.

    And just how does everybody else like their walnuts?
  • Plain and by the handful... sigh Love walnuts.
  • I often put a couple tablespoons of chopped walnuts on salad with dried cranberries. And if I bake anything there's a good chance some walnuts will end up in it. I made an apple crisp this fall and put some walnuts in the oat crumble topping, really yummy!
  • I wish I could have them. I used to bake them to get rid of the bitterness. Then I'd crumble them into salads.

    Those days are gone forever.
  • Yeah Walnuts !!!
    Bake them in my granola. When I use the full halves, it makes getting one a full spoonful treat. Yummy.

    I can't eat them alone for the reasons others have mentioned : one serving = one bag, regardless of the size of the bag.

  • Ohhhh, just bought a bag of in-shell walnuts yesterday and they're in the nut dish with the nutcrackers on the coffee table in the living room. I also grabbed a bag of hazelnuts.
