"35 Flex Points"
How many flex points is everyone using? Is it the same every week? How much weight are you loosing? Thanks

I have lost 45lbs to date and hit my goal 4 weeks ago. (I chose the high for my weight to mantain for 3-4 months then I will see if I want to go lower) Everyone uses the points differently some people spread them out over the week evenly by adding 5 points to there daily points, others use them for nights out. I choose to use mine this way. Once a week I pick a favorite dish and I have it not the diet version not the light version the regular version. This week it was a bacon cheese burger on a roll with fries ate the whole thing and loved it, sometimes its a bagel with lox and cream cheese it is different every week. This way I never feel as if I am missing anything. This seems to work for me. Good Luck I hope this helps you. |
I usually use mine for going out to eat. I used some of mine last week to get chipotle! Yum! I got a burrito bowl with all my favorite toppings. Some people spread their points out and have a few each day, and I would do that if i was feeling hungry on a regular basis, but I can stay within my daily limit of points without getting hungry, so I save the flex points up for a special treat. I have lost anywhere between 2 and 4 pounds each week!

I usually use mine, but there are weeks that I don't. I see success either way, but if I can eat more and lose, that's what I want to do!

I use all my daily and all my weekly and any and all activity points I earn.

I heard recently of a leader that recommended you use the 35 flex points for snacks like 100 cal packs, fiber bars, skinny cows, things like that. That way you focus on using your daily points for more health foods. Interesting concept, I'm going to try that.

I use all of them. While I was losing i usually at half-all.

I ALWAYS use AT LEAST 35....it's been really hard for me to stay under 35 lately...

I use mine too and still losing. This way I don't feel deprived.

I use all my extra 35 too.
A few for guilt free happy hour. A few for guilt free eating out and a few for emergency/unexpected situations. |
Thanks, I workout 4-5 hours a week so i figured I can eat them butttt sometimes I loose, sometimes I don't. I do need to them to feel satisfied.

I use generally 1-4 extra a day at times. Some days I'm spot on, others I'm not. If I have left over then I have a nice meal or go out at the end of the week. I don't weight myself the day after that.. but that's what I do. Last week I was down 2lbs.. which I need to change my signature. But, each one of us has to find our groove that works for us.

In the beginning, I did not eat any 35's, in the middle I ate half, and after that I pretty much ate all of them every week unless I am trying to lose extra for a race or something.

Hmm I don't eat ANY usually. I stick to 23pts a day. I was just wondering if eating my 35 flex points would make me gain, because the scale seems so sensitive to even 2pts over 23. That makes no sense!! I think I'll try eating some of the flex points this week and see what happens.

I haven't used any of my flex points either. I'm afraid to, I guess. Maybe I'll try to eat a few this week and see what happens also.

Don't be too nervous about using your flex points. They area great tool to keep you from feeling deprived. I use mine for going out or drinking (hey- i'm swinging & single haha!). It's unrealistic to think that you're never going to eat a piece of white bread again or that 18pts a day forever will be okay. WPAs basically teach you the fine skill of balance and moderation. You don't have to use them all or every week, but I feel that if you don't use them ever, you're missing out on a vital weight loss exercise.

My meeting leader reminds us every week to eat all of our points, including our flex points. You might want to check out the sticky on the Wendie plan in the main WW forum.
If you deprive yourself of everything you like, you're much more likely to fail, so use the flex points to treat yourself a couple times a week. The flex points are part of the plan because you can (and will) lose weight even when you eat them. I eat all of mine every week (mainly in two big chunks on non-consecutive days), and I haven't gained once since I started (going on 6 months now). Please eat!!! |
I use some of them each week. This past week it was for a ww friendly piece of chocolate cake (8pts) and it was worth every flex point. I still lost weight even with the cake!

i dont use mine either, except for last night... my dad made hamburgers and i was planning to eat it without a bun or cheese and just wrap it in lettuce and add tomato and onion but when i got home late from work the burgers were already put together and cheese melted on there! so i ate it as.... about 5 extra points.

I'm worried about the flex points too. I'm in my first week, and haven't even had my second weigh in yet, so I'm worried I'm not going to lose at all. I think I'm going to stick to my daily points allotment for this week and see how much I lose. I get 30 points anyway, so I haven't really felt hungry.

I usually use about 20 of my weekly points in addition to my 29 daily points. I don't typically touch my activity points.

I never really use the extra points. I find that if I stick to a specific amount of points, then I cant go wrong. For my wedding though (beginning of March), I will probably be going above and beyond what i am supposed to consume. I will not be too careful on that day :)

I eat all my flex points and usually all my activity points too and I tend to lose pretty consistently. I usually only use about 1 to 5 points extra monday through friday and then saturday and sunday if I have a lot left, then I will splurge on something.

I don't usually eat my extra points or my activity points till the weekend, if at all.

I use all of my regular points and split the flex points up throughout the week. This past week I only used 22 flex points. I never use my activity points. Also, I track on my iphone. Does anyone know if I used all of my flex points if I would lose more weight especially since I exercise so much during the week? My goal is 135 by my 29th b-day on March 26. I was at 149 last week when I weighed in and tomorrow is my meeting. I started last March for reference and have lost 32 pounds so far. I was just wondering how possible my goal is, or if I should stretch my goal out longer.

jendalen - you could try adding them in for a week and so how the weight loss goes. It's probably going to be harder to lose those last 10 to 15 pounds but you may be able to do it by March 26th..How do you like using the iphone to track your points? I just got one and can't wait to start using it for that!

THis thread is so interesting. I havent touched my flex points and havent lost much weight. what is the chemistry behind eating more and losing more?

Hmm how weird. I try not to eat mine. But maybe I should. It just seemed like whenever I used them, I wouldn't lose. And I feel like a failure if I go over my points at all. I guess not lol. I have eaten a few so far, maybe 4 or 5.
I'll see how I do at weigh in Sunday, and if it's not much of a loss, I'll try eating them next week and see what happens. Cos I keep hearing that we should eat all of our points too. It just seems like a lot of food... |
How I use mine varies. I aim to spread all Flex Points and Activity Points out throughout the week, but sometimes I saved them up for a special night out.

I always use at least some of my flex points. (I know they're called something else now... WPAs, I think) I am learning, though, that during the weeks where I use all of them, or almost all of them, my loss is slower -- usually 1.something, but closer to 1 than 2. The weeks I've only tapped into about half of them, my loss is on the upper end of one. A couple weeks I even lost more than 2 lbs. I don't have a consistent exercise regimen yet. I think once I incorporate more exercise into my plan, it will be safer for me to use more of my flex points.
