Move to Lose thread

Hey everyone! I hate working out, so when I do I feel like it's an accomplishment. So here's where we can all track our exercise and feel good about it!

So today I did:
-the 30 day shred DVD for 25 minutes
-I earned 1 activity point

Institches21 10-10-2008 12:54 AM

Sounds good vday

Yesterday I did
Turbo Jam- Cardio #3- 40mins

Today I will do
Melt the Fat- 60mins

suitejudyblueeyes 10-10-2008 09:02 AM

Good idea vday!

I have done NOTHING for a week. and before that, a week. And before that, a week. And now I'm facing a pretty significant gain for tomorrow so - I shall be working out tonight!

me4life 10-10-2008 09:56 AM

yeah i'm working on getting over bronchitis but hope to get moving soon.

vdaybaby 10-10-2008 05:44 PM

Yeah...today I wasn't going to work out because it is EXTREMELY windy outside and I had an early group meeting for class...
but I took the bus to the grocery store on the way back from school, then walked the 15 blocks home with about 15 pounds of groceries in my backpack! hey anything counts right? :)

I'm not adding any activity points for this though

philadelphiab 10-11-2008 03:42 PM

I swam 120 lengths of the pool with swim fins on my feet (for an extra work-out on my legs). It took 59 minutes. This is the longest pool swim since I started this program. Woo hoo!

You bet anything counts! It's all about making changes like this that become part of the routine, so we get movement in without even thinking! :bravo:

WOW! :faint: That is awesome!! :cb:

I just finished with an hour of TurboJam - 45 minutes of TurboSculpt and 15 minutes of focused ab work. I am going to HURT tomorrow, I have not done any strength training-type activities since... early spring? It was about time!! I also haven't done anything exercise-wise generally for a week and a half, so today was long overdue!

My plan for tomorrow is to go for a long walk or a shortish jog. I will see how I feel, but I have to do one or the other!

Jane 10-11-2008 10:47 PM

My DH and I have been boxing on our new Wii this evening, and my arms are killing me, lol. I really worked up a sweat, and got my heart rate up, all while having fun. :carrot: (btw, I beat him, woohoo! :D)

suitejudyblueeyes 10-12-2008 08:28 AM

I don't have a Wii, but played the boxing when I visited my sister some months ago. I really threw myself into beating up that virtual opponent and BOY was I sore the next day! It's made me want to get a punching bag :D

suitejudyblueeyes 10-13-2008 09:35 PM

Today I got on the elliptical machine for a half hour. I think the elliptical is going to have to be my wintertime activity besides livingroom DVDs - I just can't deal with the treadmill. It's so satisfying to run outside and actually go somewhere, I can't seem to adjust to the stationary TM dynamic and it was making me hate running... So I won't force myself.

But hurray for the elliptical, it was actually a lot of fun, and pretty hard on the thighs!

chunckymonkey 10-13-2008 09:40 PM

I too am an elliptical gal - burn more calories in the same amount of time (rather than the treadmill) less where and tear on the joints - and afternoon take 2 aspirin to ward off the muscle aches! Oh yeah, it's the elliptical for me

me4life 10-13-2008 09:44 PM

i got 5 miles logged into my pedometer....2 on the treadmill first thing this a.m

shannonmb 10-13-2008 10:04 PM

Woo hoo, I had my first 2-a-day today! :D (It was a day off work)

I did strength training for an hour with my trainer this am (burned 400cal) :lifter: :strong:, then my sis called me later and asked if I could go walking. 3 brisk miles we went!!! :running:

I'm feeling pretty sore and exhausted now, and about ready for bed. But it's a good feeling!!!

vdaybaby 10-14-2008 07:00 PM

You guys are all doing awesome! I admire it!

Today I did the 20 minute shred DVD with Jillian Michaels, and then I did about 10 minutes of a pilates DVD..so 30 minutes of moderate activity=2 AP's

philadelphiab 10-15-2008 05:59 AM

last night I swam for 35 minutes and 60 lengths in the pool!

philadelphiab 10-15-2008 06:58 PM

Just got back from a 31 minute swim...did short lengths as there were a ton of kids there. Added up to about 50 or so lengths, I think.

xdominic89x 10-15-2008 10:53 PM

Today I ate too much and decided that I should do something. I walked my doggie (brisk walking) for 20 minutes. Better than nothing :P

Institches21 10-16-2008 12:27 AM

I've been on a TurboJam kick this week, I just love her.

I did Cardio Party #3 yesterday 35mins on High
today is TurboSculpt and Lower Body Jam 40mins on High

Everybody is doing Great!!

philadelphiab 10-16-2008 07:46 PM

Everyone keep up the good work! Woo hoo!

I didn't want to today but did 60 lengths in the pool....It was kinda cold so I didn't have to do figure eights around the kids. I did 40 with swim fins then 20 without for a grand total of 23 minutes.

-Phil

vdaybaby 10-16-2008 08:32 PM

Good job everyone...and yes dominic, any movement is better than none! truly, I believe that

vdaybaby 10-20-2008 09:56 PM

I think I am the only one updating this thread now!

Well my working out has mainly consisted of walking from point A to point B

Yesterday I walked to the grocery store and back with my groceries, which was almost a 2 miles walk.

Then today, I walked to work and back instead of taking the second bus, which was about a 2 1/2 mile walk

Institches21 10-21-2008 11:54 AM

vday-That is a great workout-Super

I've been super busy, not much time to post sorry, but I have been exercising daily, just no time to post my success- I guess that's better than, taking the time to post and not doing my exercise!

Still doing the TJ everyday, and now I've decided to do a challenge on the exercise thread, it's the 10day kick start, I'm on day 2.

Well you keep getting in those walks and have a great day.

vdaybaby 10-21-2008 06:10 PM

haha thanks!

Institches21 10-23-2008 12:32 AM

Tuesday-Fat Blaster- 30mins
Wednesday-Turbo Sculpt-45mins

philadelphiab 10-23-2008 06:38 AM

I pulled something in my neck from swimming! I am sooo mad it really is what relaxes me and such a good workout. So I pouted on Tuesday but yesterday I got off my duff and walked the neighborhood for 70 minutes! The weather here is so beautiful now...I have to be outside.

Institches21 10-24-2008 01:14 AM

Today I did Cardio Party #2- 40mins

Paintfancy 10-25-2008 09:02 AM

This thread is great! It really motivates me to see what everyone else is doing. I do the same routine every single week (which I love) but it's making me wonder if I should add a few videos or something.

Mon, Tue, and Wed mornings I do a 30 minute programmed walk on my treadmill (varying speeds and varying hill work). Then I get on my recumbent bike for 15 minutes. Then it's on to the Ablounger for 75 midsection curls and 25 curls on each side (gotta try to get rid of the love handles ;) ) Then on the gym I do some arm exercises and I hang in one spot and pull my knees to my chest (more ab work). After that it's about 5 minutes of stretching. My workout usually takes about an hour on these days.

Thursday nights I go to line dance class and dance my butt off for 3 hrs. So, I do a total of 6 hrs per week. Since it's a long time between Thursday night and Monday morning, sometimes I'll add the hour workout onto Saturdays.

I know it's boring that I do the same thing every single week, but I've found that if I have a schedule, I stick to it better. There's no more trying to work the exercise time in, it's just automatic and I know I'm going to do it. Plus I don't fret over what kind of exercise I'm going to do everyday.

I watch music videos while I workout to help keep the boredom at bay. :D

philadelphiab 10-26-2008 09:31 AM

I am giving my neck another day to recover....so lazy this week. I cleaned house yesterday, does that count?

Institches21 10-26-2008 08:59 PM

Paint-Your routine doesn't seem to hinder your great results, so I would say don't change it! By the way you are getting in alot of differant things, they might be the same pattern, but they are certaintly not the same exercises, I think you are doing great!!

philadelphiab-hope your neck is better soon-and yes I would count housework if you worked up a sweat!!

**********
Saturday-did 20min TJ workout and Lower Body Jam
Sunday-did the 3T workout
Monday- will be Cardio Party #2

xdominic89x 10-28-2008 03:51 PM
