question about figuring points for pizza
So. Friday nights are pizza nights for our family. We just got a Papa Murphey's in our area, so I thought we would try it out. Ordered the kids a pepperoni and a deLITE pizza for dh and I. I asked about nutritional data but they were out of the fliers and the manager suggested I look it up online.
http://www.papamurphys.com/public/nu...ThinCrust.html So. we ordered the Gourmet Chicken Bacon Artichoke deLITE Per slice: Cal. 181 Fat. 9 Fiber .5 The thing is.. THEIR "slice" is 1/10 of the pizza!! :dizzy: I can only slice into 8 equal slices. 1/10 of a slice is 4 points. Can anyone help me figure out what it would be for 1/8 of a slice? I guesstimated (overestimated to be safe), but I would really like to know for sure. Thanks for any input..surely there is some mathematical whiz here who can tally up some magical formula..probably algebra or something I slept through, LOL. ;) |
1/8 would be .6 fiber, 226 cals, 11 fat
Yeah, who cuts a pizza into 10 pieces anyway? |
I got the same as Auntie G and it would round out to 5 points!

me thinks someone trying to make their deLITE pizza seem more LITE ;) It was really yummy, btw. thanks for helping a sistah chick out.:) P.S.-how did you calculate that (I may need that formula for future pizzas) |
All you have to do is take the numbers for the original serving size and multiply them by the amount of servings (in this case x10), and then divide that total by the new amount of servings (8). Voila!
181 x 10 = 1810 ÷ 8 = 226.25 9 x 10 = 90 ÷ 8 = 11.25 .5 x 10 = 5 ÷ 8 = .0625 |
It's the fat that does it  but great job on find out the points etc!
How was it? |

A few months ago we have started having family meals again, and I really look forward to Family Nights/Friday is Pizza Night. I feel good about showing some moderation and restraint, too. Baby steps...baby steps.. |
for me I splurge on papa johns whole wheat crust pizza... lots of points but worth it for me to kill the pizza craving.

I'm having pizza tonight. It's been a while and this is my official splurge meal of the week, so I may even have 3 slices - oooooh! I really do appreciate the places that list the nutritionals, though, rather than an independent pizzeria that has no formula. Knowing what you're putting in is half the battle!
