  • About a two weeks ago i let myself go as i was on holiday and well i didn't keep to my points. Lucky for me i only put on about one pound , now however i am back , i am ill and unable to exercise i have managed to motivate myself back on to my diet, however today i really blew it and i cant seem to stop myself at the moment and i feel even worse due to not being able to exercise.
I stuck to my points until about an hour ago then i had about 5 biscuits a packet of revals and some nuts not only that but i had two bagels today (which where in my points range) however i feel like that was a bad choice ...im beating myself up and i feel really fat due to the lack of exercise and i really need some supportive uplifting replies just to help me from eating the whole packet of bicuits

I have had some of those times when I have just kind of gotten out of control with the eating, too. Some days I'm just "hungry," thought I'm not positive it's always physical hunger.

Look at it this way...you stopped at 5 biscuits (that's cookies in American-speak, right?). You DIDN'T finish the whole package. That in itself is a good thing. Now try to put them up out of sight, or somewhere hard to get into them.

I'm sorry you've been unable to exercise. I hope you're feeling well soon, so that you'l be able to start up again. Me? I have yet to incorporate a consistent exercise routine. But I have those times when I just can't cook my own foods, and it comes down to me making the right choices where we are. It's hard!

Just wanted to say I understand getting off track and the struggle to get back on. We just have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and try again.

  • First of all, hang in there! Binge eating will only make you feel worse. I know, because that's what I did for several months. I'd be GREAT for 2 weeks, then I'd binge for 2 weeks, then great for 2 weeks, then binge. I don't have a lot to lose (I just want to fit into my summer clothes again), but I decided that having a team of people would really help. So I organized a Biggest Loser competition at my office. We now have 3 teams of 4 people who are working together to live a healthier lifestyle. We each put $10 into the pot. We nominated three captains, who are in charge or motivating the team and tracking goals, and each captain pulled their team names out of a hat. The winning team gets taken out to lunch by the other two teams. And the biggest loser of all gets all the $ in the pot ($120). We're doing it for 8 weeks. Try it!
  • Remember that no matter what happened five minutes ago, or five seconds ago, that you are in control. You can stop now.

Even if it means you have to throw out the biscuits. Even if it means that you have to give yourself a couple of points to have a healthy dinner tonight, (packed with lots of zero point veg) do it. Whatever makes it easiest for you to get immediately back on plan without delay.

Distract yourself with something else to do. Get away from the environment that is leading you to binge.

You can do this! The rest of your life is much more important than some biscuits.
  • Don't worry about what happened on holiday, and don't stress out over a few biscuits. Take some time to rest and feel better, have a cup of tea if you drink it, and take a long bath. You'll feel better, and have a fresher look at how things are going. Overall, a few biscuits and a couple of bagels aren't really that big of a deal, and you'll be able to see that better tomorrow.

You can do whatever you set your mind to. Rest a bit until you feel better, then get back to your plan.
  • It's never too late to get back on program. We all hit a bump in the road now and then. The important thing is to dust yourself off and get back on program. You can do it.

Hope you get to feeling better.
  • I know exactly how you feel! We all have hard times on our weight loss journey. The best thing you can do is leave it behind you and move on!

  • I found this quote on the Weight Watchers web site. It is from one of the success stories. Her name is Sonia and she lost 42 pounds.

“Think of a lapse as if you broke a plate of your best china,” says Sonia. “Would you go and break all the rest of your dishes or do you just mourn the loss of your broken plate and move on?”
  • kahnfv- Love it, so true!

sometimes you will hit those, bumps in the road, and as Faerie said it so well, just move on, don't dwell on it, try to move yourself quickly out of that situation. Good Luck for the rest of your night.
