Jaime -- my breakfast was eggs and an english muffin, so the side of spinach didn't seem so weird...spinach and eggs go together! just funny when you eat the spinach AFTER the eggs...well, whatever. It has proven to be a fantastic breakfast so far, fueling amazing powers of concentration for my studying (well, until just now, when I suddenly find myself back on here!) Congrats on the loss and the pants!! I know what you mean about getting a whole new wardrobe...I've been wearing a pair of pants comfortably these days that, even when I got them, were too tight and VERY uncomfortable. Now I worry that I'll soon be shrinking out of them (and they were expensive! and cute!)!!
Keep up the good work -- onederland awaits you...

Shrinkinglizzy - Our cruise was from LA to San Diego, Catalina Island, and Ensenada. I was quite happy to be wearing my new sun dress and shorts and t-shirts and didn't feel as self-conscious as I did during the summer last year. It was great! Good luck with the presentation!

Suite - Congrats on your loss this week! You are doing SO well! And the new wardrobe thing is such a great NSV! Congrats!! Also, make sure you take a picture of this new haircut! I want to see! :)

Off to a pretty good start this morning, am back to drinking water (didn't drink nearly enough on the ship), but my exercise will probably continue to suffer until I get back to England next Monday. But that's okay, as around here there's plenty to do that will keep me moving anyway, like horses to groom/ride, stalls to muck, and Leo (in my avatar) requires little walks for his sore feet to increase the circulation in his hooves. People who drive past and see me walking a miniature horse do a double take and most roll down their window and make some sort of comment! Haha.

Have a good on-plan weekend everyone! :)

Freedom - I went on that same cruise 2 years ago! Was that Royal Caribbean? Someone told me they weren't doing that cruise any more?

So I just whooped my butt working in my yard most of today. I hope it will counteract the drinking I know I'll be doing tonight. Going to a house party at my lil sis's. I'm planning on drinking a bottle of water for every alcoholic drink I have, hopefully that will keep the points & hangover down!

Saturday :)

Relaxing Saturday Evening ^^

Freedom - :welcome: Home! Sounds like you had a blast :D And planning to get right back on track... Fantastic! I bet you're happy to get back to your horses, though ^^

Hope - Crazy how close we'll be, still. ;) Small world ^^

Lizzy - More hugs  It must be rough having to find a new place to settle down. Just know that you're never that far away from all of us on the internet ;) And Jersey's not that far from much of New England :D WTG on getting some veggies in, and I laughed out loud about the Suite spinach munching

Suite - You're so close to Onederland. Eek ^^ So exciting! Congrats on those pants. That's so cool! :carrot:

Gemini - That's such awesome planning about the water & drinks tonight. :cp: Let us know how it works out.

What a wonderful day :D

It was a little gloomy when I woke up, but by the time my fiancé and I arrived at the last B&B it was gorgeous... GORGEOUS. The sun was shining, it was just a little cool and windy, but it just felt good!

The B&B was beautiful. The landscape was well done. Their restaurant has a really neat stone wall across two sides. Cute rooms. So now comes the hard part! The man & I will be sitting down to go over budget & select the one place that has the most of what we want for the wedding and family. It's already tough! We really like all four of the places we've seen. I think we agree on our top 2... oh well, like I said, I'll let you guys know where we finally decide.

I had a good OP day. Lots of delicious cheeses to make up those 15 points for my super high day. Garlic & herb feta and fresh mozzarella with some spring greens and tomatoes and topped with some balsamic. Yummy! (It ended up being like 11 points due to all the cheese I used! Now that's a salad right? ;)) And I've just finished relaxing with some hot chocolate that I made with almond milk, and some 94% FF microwave popcorn to munch on. Soothing and tasty.

Just a good day all around. I hope that you all had some fun things to do!

vdaybaby 04-05-2008 11:43 PM

I had my super high day today too!
I went and had mexican food at this restaurant that we had never been to before...but that we always wanted to go to. It is family owned, not chain. It was soooooooooooooo good. I had 2 cheese enchiladas with black beans, and chips and salsa. 20 points!!! But it was worth it for sure, best enchiladas I think I have ever had!

I started jogging on the treadmill today. I usually just walk really fast, and today I actually jogged. It was a little awkward since it was my first time jogging on a treadmill...but it was definitely a heart beat raiser!!

I go back to school from Spring Break on Monday..boooo...

Have a good Saturday night!

ok, little tipsy, not gonna lie...i cooked tofu for dinner and ex-BF asked about getting a bottle (i hold the purse strings around here). i initially said no, but...well, we got some wine.
so i had a great healthy dinner but topped it off with wine and some pretzels and hummus, could've been worse, i still have a few FPs left for the week and i'm going out for dinner tomorrow, so we'll see. Not having a scale makes the suspense almost unbearable, but in another way, necessary.
i think it's bedtime.

lizzy
How do you make tofu, never had it but heard that it's good. Any recipes would be helpful. Hope your week goes well

shrinkinglizzy 04-06-2008 09:55 AM

yum it was good!
here's a simple recipe (to drain tofu, you can put it in a strainer or on top of a clean dishcloth, then put a plate on top of it and weigh it down with a 5-lb weight if you have it, or else cans, or a stack of books)

POINTS® Value: 2
Servings: 4
Preparation Time: 15 min
Cooking Time: 11 min
Level of Difficulty: Moderate

Vegetarian cuisine never tasted so good! Toasted pine nuts and seared tofu combined with the rich flavor of Swiss chard will excite your taste buds.
Ingredients
• 4 tsp pine nuts
• 1 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
• 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 8 oz firm tofu, drained and sliced crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick slices
• 2 tsp olive oil
• 2 medium garlic clove(s), minced
• 6 cup Swiss chard, fresh, rinsed well and chopped
Instructions
• Set a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. When pan is hot, add pine nuts and sauté until golden brown, shaking the pan often to prevent burning, about 3 minutes; remove pine nuts from pan and set aside.
• Combine soy sauce and pepper in a shallow dish. Add tofu; turn to coat.
• Heat oil in the same pan over medium-high heat. Add tofu and sear until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Remove tofu from pan using a spatula and cover with foil to keep warm; set aside.
• Add garlic to the same pan and sauté until just golden, about 2 minutes; add Swiss chard and cook until wilted, about 30 seconds. Transfer Swiss chard to individual plates and top with seared tofu and pine nuts. Yields about 2 slices of tofu, 3/4 cup of Swiss chard and 1 teaspoon of pine nuts per serving.

Other times I just drain it, cube it, and toss it around in a nonstick skillet with a touch of oil, get it crispy and eat it with broc (but clearly you could use whatever veggie) over rice.

Good luck!

OK, new day, a new way...
just ate yogurt with banana and golean, but don't have a clue about the rest of my day. Planning on yoga in an hour...man, i better start drinking some water, esp after last night's wine OD.
tomorrow is weigh in...yikes. I don't want to sound, well, i don't know how this sounds, but I kinda deserve a gain. Like, I've been steadily losing or maintaining, and i really don't feel like my eating habits merit that kind of thing. When I look at my daily menus, I'm really not so great at staying OP! Well, we'll see. I am going out to dinner tonight, but I am going to try try try to be good...esp on the alcohol...

Faerie, Aero, Institches,Suite,(sorry if I missed anyone)

I just wanted to get back to you to let you know how my Saturday weigh in went. I was up .6, not the 2lbs I thought, but it was still disappointing. I'm not going to let it get me down though. We went for a walk and I did about 3/4 of the biggest loser work out yesterday. Today, we went for another walk, longer than yesterday. I am back to writing everything down. I also bought myself a water bottle that holds 30 ounces....So, I will make sure I get my water in. Also, I wrote out my points for the Wendy plan. So, I will know what I should have each day this week. I know I was setting myself up, I wanted to lose a certain amount by June 7th, instead of just concentrating on day to day weight loss. I may not make my June 7 goal, but I will be way better than if I didnt do anything at all. Also, I had a talk with Hubby - he's also doing ww with me. I am thinking it will be sometime next year before I get to my final goal, so no worries about the little challenges.;) Also, I wanted to thank you for letting me vent to you and for the words of encouragement. I really needed them. I hope you are having a good week.

Dawn

Hi Dawn-Hey that gain is so small, great that it wasn't the 2 :carrot:

Sounds like you have a Great Plan for yourself, writing things down ahead of time sounds so helpful, getting in your water is excellent. Also helps so much to have your hubby on program with you, I know it helps me so much.

Great self-talk about getting yourself closer to your goal. :bravo:

Hey we all need some help now and then, sounds like your week is off to a Great Start ;)

Hope everyone has a wonderful week

Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!

Good Evening, Flexers :)

Vday - That food sounds delicious... I looooves me some Mexican food! :hun: And grats on starting that jogging ^^

Lizzy - That recipe sound phenomenal! You had a good breakfast :) I hope your dinner plans went okay! Also, :goodluck: on WI!

Dawn - You've got a good plan for this upcoming week  Please let us know how everything goes when you can!

Institches - :)

Boy I napped like it was going out of style today. Slept in late... napped for awhile... It's late and I haven't gotten my exercise in for the day!!!! AAACCKKK!!! I wanted to go take a walk... but I took that nap instead... -_-

I still have my yoga dvd that I could do in the evening, because it isn't particularly difficult, and the end of it is very relaxing... We'll see ladies, we'll see. Hopefully my own commitment is strong enough to get this done tonight! :^:

But first... bills. Blah ; ;

I hope you all are having nice weekends. :grouphug:

suitejudyblueeyes 04-07-2008 07:41 AM

freedom - Aw, poor Leo. I bet he really loves that you're taking such good care of him. All that barn work sounds kinda fun actually. Better than sitting at a computer all day :p

gemini - yard work can be taxing stuff!! Sounds like you had a plan for your evening - I know it was two days ago now so I hope everything went well.

Faerie - Oooh, that B&B sounds very pretty! So when you decide are you gonna tell us where it is so we can come crash your wedding? :D Hot chocolate and almond milk sounds yummy... Will have to try that.

vday - WTG on the jogging! That's fantastic :D :D

Sonja - I hear ya on the unbearable scale suspense. But I'm pretty sure I would have given up by now if I were able to weigh every day or whenever I felt like it. I'd see a gain and go 'Oh well, that's enough.' And dive into a bag of whatever. The suspense is worth it :) Hope your dining out experience went okay, and good luck at your WI!

Dawn - Good to hear you weren't up very much! .6 is nothing! You'll be back on that downwards track in no time. These little things happen, it's part of the path we're on...

institches - I hope you have a great week too!

Well my weekend was reading reading reading, and I *still* didn't get as much done as I wanted to. I'm staring at the last week between me and my orals. I figure from here on out I'm going to get progressively more and more freaked out about it, and you all have to put up with it! I am not good at speaking coherently when talking to "authority figures" such as professors. (The fact that one of my examiners is basically like a grandfather to me seems not to factor in; I'm fine talking to him in any other context but expect to be thoroughly freaked out next Tuesday in front of him.) I have three things left to read before I can start reviewing and pulling concepts and theme and stitching together the bulk of my talk. Just so you know exactly what kind of **** I'm stuck in, this is what I have left: (the three least fun things saved for last) Locke - An Essay Concerning Human Understanding; John Dryden - A Discourse Concerning the Original and Progress of Satire; and Stuart Sherman - Telling Time (a work of recent criticism theorizing about the nature of time, the development of time-telling technology, and the rise of narrative structure in the 18th C. Fun.).

WHHEEEEEE. :dizzy:

I'm really surprised at just how OP my eating this weekend was. Saturday was a planned high day and I did really well with it (I didn't eat much "filler" junk to make up the points), and then yesterday I stayed right on target without having to try hard. Usually on weekends I get snacky and munchie and all I want to do is graze, but yesterday I was okay. Hurray for it being easy for once :p

Well, I better get to work. Have a good Monday everyone!

Lovely 04-07-2008 07:42 AM

Monday... :p

Happy day, everyone :)

Seems silly to be posting right after my own post.. but like that's gonna stop me! :D

I'm very proud of myself this morning. I did my yoga tape last night. I got exercise in! :D This is a huge triumph, because normally if I don't get it done on the mornings on the weekends I'm like "meh, screw it." But I did it! :carrot:

Work to do :) But I hope you all are having fantastic mornings.

Lovely 04-07-2008 07:45 AM

Suite - We posted at the same time! Anytime the word "discourse" is used... I'm not going to lie... I actually fall asleep for a brief nap. ;) Seriously, you'll be fantastic. Remember to breath! (I always forget that part when speaking publicly.) You've done so much preparing. It'll show! Awesome job staying OP. The weekends can be tough, for sure.
