OOF, this was less than encouraging

So, I finally decided to bite the bullet and shuck out the $$ to join WW online.
The thing was that I had done WW years ago, so much to my surprise, they still had my name on file. So I remembered my sign in info and just signed back in again, to be greeted warmly with my current weight and goal:

WEIGHT:140.5
GOAL: 125

Now, the reason this kinda freaked me out is that it was like a little time capsule -- this is my info from the last time I signed in and weighed in -- June, 2004! And it's exactly where I'm at now! And this is after 4 years of up and down and up again....And I remember falling off the wagon way back then, too...I remember bingeing so bad, so miserable...

So then there was this little frowny face that was like, "Hey, you gained a pound since the last time you weighed in! That blows! But maybe if you weighed in more, you wouldn't be such a fat piggy now!" OK, maybe the frowny face wasn't saying ALL of that in wordsd, per se, but I read it in his eyes. And was like, "DUDE! It's been 4 years! Gimme a break! I wear, I was down to 134, AND then I was all the way up to 154, so really, I've lost weight!"

Whatever, I didn't have 3FC back then. Now, I do. Things will be different this time. 125, here I come...

:bravo: for keeping up the great attitude :) I did the same thing you did once. Although, I lost 80 pounds on WW (went from ~230 down to ~150). At some point, I started gaining. When I got to 170ish I stopped going to WW and stopped paying for the online tools. Well it felt really bad when I started going back to WW and logged back in online... and had to enter 220 as my weight! Don't worry, just stick with the program and you will reach that goal!

I've done the same thing! My old start weight on WW and on Fitday was around 195, and here I am sitting at above 200... I'd love to see 195 again!! It's funny, it's like being forced to confront yourself by a computer.

Glad to hear you got etools, though, I think it's going to be super-helpful for you. :)

great attitude lizzy! it WILL be different this time!

Gosh, you're lucky :)

I went to WW back in 2001, and I weighed then what my goal is now! That's not so funny. Now I just think I should feel happy to have lost a few and be on the way down because, without a doubt, I could be heavier...

You know one thing I think is you should appreciate your weight as it is now. I mean I remember trying to lose weight at 130 and right now my goal is 145!

I could weigh alot less but then I could weigh a lot more! So you are at 140 ..keep in mind that is a goal weight for many, appreciate it and then go one step at a time :)

Keep at it, you're doing great to be where you were and not over, I think that's what everyone else is saying. You also need to consider whether your goal weight is maintainable. The only way to do that is to get there and see, but maybe that's a bit low, or maybe not. I was down to 135, but I was there for like one day and started to gain... Anyway, :congrat: on having a great attitude and for sharing your experience!

shrinkinglizzy 02-29-2008 12:27 AM

Kelijpa -- yeah, I was thinking that maybe 125 might be non-maintainable for me. It's healthy weight, even on the higher end of healthy for my height, but I felt pretty healthy at 137, so I could see 132 or so being just fine. We'll see...

That old high school weight of 120 just seems so inviting, though...

Well you didn't get anything of Sawyer last night. I hope you liked Desmond or Sayid a little bit :) Actually I thought it was a great episode!
