Out of the Loop on Flex

I am doing WW on my own because I'm out of work and money is tight. I am using the tools and books I got four years ago, where you are allowed a certain number of points based on your current weight. I have been reading about "flex points" and don't know what you mean by them. Can someone fill me in? Thanks.

You get 35 "bonus" (flex) points a week. Some people use them when they go out or have a special occasion so that they can treat themselves, and others split them up evenly and have an extra 5 per day. :)

So, this is on top of the 28-33 points a day I am allowed?

You no longer have a range of points to eat -- instead, you have a base target and the 35 per week. So it's almost the same system but gives you more flexibility as to when you want to aim for the upper number of your range, you know?

If you google 'weight watchers points formula' or something you might be able to find the way they use to determine the base points target now. That'd be a good place to start. From there you get another 35 per week. :)

Something you could also do is do the free 7 day trial of weight watchers online (be sure to cancel before the 7 days are out). You could get the amount of points you should be eating for your current weight. Although once you drop weight, your points would change.

Of course you also have the option to use the old system without flex points if that works for you.
