I've been hanging around these forums for a couple of days now, time I filled out a bio
These are kind of fun....
Name: Jaime
General location: central Virginia (though I foresee a move to NOVA this year)
Occupation: Business Research and Consultancy
Birthday: Aug 30
Marital status: Married going on 7 months
Children/grandchildren: None yet, though the plan is to start next year.
How long have you been on WW/Flex: Since 1/5/08 this time, I did it for a while three years ago and had great success.
How much weight do you hope to lose: 76lbs
What do you do for exercise: I have a WATP 3-mile DVD I love, a TurboJam DVD that kicks my butt every time I do it but it's fun, and a couple of yoga DVDs I alternate between when I'm not feeling up to more aerobic exercise. Then there's walking and DDR. I like to mix it up!
What foods help you stay OP: Almonds... sugar free fudgsicles... 1-point wraps with 8g of fiber ("Flat Out" brand)... fresh, seasonal, beautiful veggies!
Why do you think you'll be successful this time: Last time I was going it alone -- I chose not to tell anyone, didn't have a support network, and was doing WW from home. This time I'm doing WW with my sister, going to meetings, and I have all you lovely people for inspiration and motivation! I think having the necessary support network makes a HUGE difference, and the meetings are going to be integral for me.
What is the biggest obstacle between you and success: Myself... self-sabotage. I have a history of binge eating, and I'm both an emotional and a boredom eater. I've been doing much better the past few months and I really feel I'm starting to learn how to deal with the feelings that bring on a binge... which definitely helps my progress.
How will/did you overcome this obstacle: Ha, oops, just answered that.
What do you like to do for fun: Watch documentaries... knit... hike... read... play games and put together jigsaw puzzles... I'm pretty low-key for a 20-something.
What type of music do you like best? Little of everything except hip-hop/r&b. I like a bunch of classical music, I like bluegrass and classic country (e.g. townes van zandt), old blues (skip james!) a lot of classic rock, not too much contemporary pop, I tend to love indie rock (but not the emo kind, more like Sufjan Stevens and Iron & Wine). ...a bunch of stuff
If you were on a deserted island for a month, by yourself, what 3 (only 3) items (not people) would you want with you? The Oxford Complete Shakespeare... a giant box of matches... and a stationery set.
