NSV from my 16 year old son.....
First, let me start by saying I love my DS, but he is a typical 16 year old guy! He notices very little other than 16 year old girls, and b**bs!
DS ran to the grocery store with me a little bit ago, and by the looks of the parking lot you'd of thought it was free grocery day! After driving up and down a couple isles in the parking lot with no empty spaces, I noticed that the first space in the isle was open - the one with the "Reserved for pregnant women" sign posted. I laughed and looked at DS and said, "Well, I could just pretend to be pregnant!" He looked at me kinda goofy, then said, "No way, Mom! You could NEVER pass for being pregnant, you've lost A LOT of weight!!" I looked at him like he was an alien, tried to get over the shock of his comment, then said yeah, I'd lost a little. He said, "look again, Mom, you've really lost a lot!" Well, I was shocked he had really noticed as I don't advertise around the house with what I've lost, but was still feeling all warm and fuzzy.... |
That's awesome! There's nothing better than when people tell you they have noticed and you didn't think they did! Congrats!!
KELLY...That's so great, especially when your child notices, because they see you every day and it may take them longer to notice the changes to begin with.;)
woo hoo!! Congrats on your weight loss and your thoughful son!!
That's super, Kelly! I am happy for you!
Wow! What a great feeling. A teenager (I have 3 of them myself) noticed something about somebody other then themselves! That's terrific!
Thanks, everyone....I walked around the rest of the day with a little smile on my face!
and FedUp, that's exactly what I mean......teens naturally tend to be so self-absorbed, I was shocked! |
Sons are, or can be, the best people on earth. I have 21 year old twin sons.
It means more to me when one of them notices than anyone else. Just knowing that they are proud of me makes me try harder. Enjoy that smile and know that even at 16 your son is still your little boy and loves you. |
DebbieII, thank you. You are so right....his thoughts/opinions mean more to me than most others!
i love having that smile all day!!!...it's amazing how it won't shift. what a great nsv. congratulations!
Congratulations. It does feel good when our children notice. My son is 20 yrs. old and if he mentions my weight loss, I'm on cloud 9. He told me the other day that he probably has some camoflage clothes that I can wear for hunting. He is almost 6'0 and 145 lbs. It flattered me to think that he thought I could wear something of his. This certainly has never happened before.

Thanks, Lilybelle! I'm sure you were flying high after your son's comment as well!
What a great comment- that is a testament both to your fabulous weight loss and good child-rearing. Way to go!
That's great. Congrats. My 18 yo DS gave me a similar compliment. He looked at me and said you're getting skinny. When some one you're around on a daily basis, especially a teenaged boy, gives you a compliment like that it gives you that extra boost.
Keep up the good work. Wishing You All The Best Denise |
How cool!
