Doctor Scale NSV

One of my wake-up calls to lose weight this time around was when I went to the doctor last year. When I had stepped on the scale, I cried out "Oh my God!" The scale read 165 (I didn't own a scale and the last time I had weighed myself was when I was in the high 140's). After seeing my horror, the nurse had felt sympathetic and recorded only 160 to try and make me feel better. :p

Well, I went for my yearly checkup today and happily, the scale read 122. :carrot:

Even though I didn't join my gym until last January, that appointment in October of last year was what really opened my mind to the path I was going down. It's kind of nice to come back after a year and see how much better I've done for myself. It would have been so easy to just keep gaining and gaining.

Also, as an additional NSV, when I went to the doctor last time, I took a cab both ways (I work downtown). Today, I realized that the office really wasn't that far and I walked both ways. I was very tempted along the way as well, passing by a Dunkin' Donuts shop (I haven't had one of those in at least a year), but I just kept on walking. :running:

Wow! Well done!! You must be so happy, and think of the $$ you saved not taking a cab.....exercise and extra cash!

Way to go - I can't wait until I'm happy with the number on the scale! And walking to the doctor sure shows how much your mindset has changed in the last year. You must feel great!

WTG, seeing that 122 on the Dr. scales must have been fantastic. A little over a yr. ago, I had to face my true wt. of 234 at the Dr.'s office, it was shocking to me, as although I knew I had gained, I had quit weighing and didn't know what my true weight was. Also, Congrat's on walking to the appt. , that is great.
