Just starting

I am just starting (again) so I decided instead of trying to lose ALL the weight I need to, I am going to try to lose 25 pounds. I am at 225 right now and would like to get down to at least 200. Still a lot but I know I will feel a lot better.

I am 50 weigh 254 and would like to lose a total of 100lbs..my problem is when I don't see results fast enuff I quit til I try on them pair of pants and remember why I started to begin with or I hang out with my grandchildren and wish I had more energy.so I am hoping this site helps.

Unfortunately, speed and weight loss do not go hand in hand. Most people (after all obesity in America is rampant) just can't seem to lose weight. My thought is that you need to know that you will be on a diet for up to 5 years, and after that you cannot go back to normal eating because "normal" was always a bad diet (it is the reason most of us are overweight).

I am 57, and have lost 43 pounds in 5 months-- so age does not really matter. I did not exercise, (I have a heart condition). I have been on a plateau for nearly 2 months, and then suddenly lost 12 pounds, and am losing again. I drank more water, and added more fiber to my diet.

Good luck with yours!

Hi catlover, I started at 225 last year and just today posted by goal story. I am now 147lbs at 5'5" and I feel so much better. You can do this! Just make small and steady changes and keep going!

Little goals are the key to success I've found. One day at a time. Today, for instance, I have a goal to just make it to the gym. I have a goal to overcome all of the excuses I make.
