Default 100 Pounds Gone Forever

Technically my weigh in day is Saturday and for some reason I feel like the number on the scale isn't official until then. However, when I got on the scale this morning and it said 179...I was over the moon. FINALLY!

These last 10 months have been a very interesting time full of soul searching, tears and laughter. I have actually started living my life again and I'm thrilled when my friends tell me that they're glad to have me back. I had been hiding for so long.

And the best part is that I don't feel any of the shame I felt before for needing to lose over 100 pounds. I just feel pride. I have worked hard to get here...why waste time being down on myself for gaining the weight in the first place.

This is the happiest I've felt in a long long time and I'm so thankful to everyone on this site for their kind words of encouragement and support and their funny stories and confessions.

I think we need a new category -- Way More Than a Mini-Goal! Congratulations on such a significant achievement and on your positive and uplifting attitude. Yours was the first post I read this morning, and it's a great way to start off the day! Hopefully, I'll be able to emulate you one of these days.

Very impressive. I keep starting & stopping. I know all the right things to do, it is just staying motivated.
What diet or plan did you use? What was your biggest motivation?
And congratulations!

Thanks so much betsy2013. I'm somewhat shocked by my attitude as well...I'd gotten so used to being so down on myself...completely pointless!

Gilligan - thanks! I have started and stopped many many times. The only reason that I can come up with for why this time seems to have stuck is that I found the right plan for me. I joined a 12 step program for compulsive overeaters called The Greysheet. I had tried everything else before with no long term luck. This plan suits me...I realize that it's not for everyone but nothing is for everyone. Starting and stopping just means that you haven't given up, you're still learning what works and what doesn't and you'll have a ton of knowledge going in to the attempt that will be your last.
