Ran 40 minutes!

Ok, I didn't run 40 consecutive minutes. But I don't care! I topped my previous record by 14 minutes!

I alternated between walking briskly and on an incline for 2 minutes and running for two minutes. By the time I got to the 17th two-minute running interval, I was really worn out but I wanted to get all the way to 20 two-minute intervals. and I did! Sometimes I strung 4 minutes together when I was feeling up to it.

Another best was completing 6 miles running/walking in one hour and 27 minutes. No big deal to avid runners, but it used to take me two hours to walk six miles!

I'm gonna get to 5k without stopping one day, I just know it :carrot:

Good for you! What an accomplishment. :)

Just keep going and you'll get the 5k accomplishment sooner than you know!

Awesome! I would love to run a marathon and I can't believe I'm saying that. I'm the one who always watches other people run and thinks "how stupid!" Now that I'm losing the weight a little at a time and it's becoming easier just to walk it makes me think that one day I would love to run again. We have some friends who ask us each year to run the warriors dash. NOT really a marathon, but it's always seemed impossible to even try. Now I'm thinking hard about trying it at some point. Reading your story is inspirational and makes me think about it even more.

Great job. I remember how proud I felt when I could run for any amount of time. You're doing great!

Wow...I'm not used to being an inspiration - thanks! :)

If you set the goal to run a marathon, then you will do it. I love setting goals and creating challenges for myself. Keeps things interesting, and I feel like I have really accomplished something when I achieve the goal.
