50lbs loss

id like to say that i am sooo happy that i have lost 52 lbs but im really not. most probably dont remember me but i started my journey at 463 and i am now 411. i see the number on the scale but i just dont see it on my body. I still have high blood pressure and diabetes. im very frustrated that i am not seeing any differnces and have went on a vaca from my "lifestyle change" for 2 days now and plan on doing it for a few more days. anyways just letting people know i made a goal and got there but im not satisfied and need more encourgament.

Laura, Be encouraged. 50lbs is great progress. We all want rapid changes. I wish there was some magic wand that could zap the years of me using food comfort. You can do this. It took some years to put it on and now it will take some time, positive thinking, small milestones, and alot of encouragement to finish this race to a better you. I think that you are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

52lbs is a significant achievement - basically, you gave birth to a 7yr old child!

but now is not the time to stop - i know you don't see the changes but they ARE happening. i had the same problem when i was 220lbs - i lost 20lbs, a whole 10% of my bodyweight, and nobody noticed a thing. i didn't stop, though, and the thing is, the smaller you get, the faster the work shows up. by the time i was 125lbs, ppl noticed if i lost 5lbs and would tell me i was dieting too hard. 52lbs is more than 10% of your bodyweight - but when 10% is spread out quite thinly, yes, it's more difficult to measure. as you shrink, you WILL see results faster and faster, i promise.

please don't give up and please don't spend too long on your vacation bec it's altogether possible you'll decide to stay in the land of lotus eaters and undo all the hard work you've put out so far.

You should be so proud of yourself Laura, it takes courage and commitment to lose over 50 pounds, no matter where you started. And you've done that!

Please be kind to yourself, that means not spending too much time thinking about how far you have to go but how far you've come. And even though you may still have your health issues, just remember that every pound you lose is that much closer to being healthy, so you have made progress there.

Sticking to a plan is hard, but it's the best thing you can do, and the sooner the better.

(((Hugs))))

*hugs* you are doing great! ! Don't stay off the wagon too long, just keep chugging along. I think it takes quite a bit of a loss atinto your weight to notice a change from what I have read in posts. I've lost about 10 pounds and I see no difference until I look at my tight shirt ans shorts comparison pictures, have you tried taking some like that? Just visualize yourself 100and pounds from now, you will see a difference. Don't give up!

So now i am down 85 lbs and weigh 387, yay out of the 400s. I still dont see a change in my body it looks the same, but I do see things like i dont need the seatbelt extender in my car anymore and the steering wheel isnt touching my stomache anymore. It is so hard when you are this fat. I keep thinking if the things I will be able to do when i get smaller like ride a horse or go to a amusement park and thats keeping me motivated for the moment :)

You are doing such an amazing job. I'm so happy that you didn't give up. I think it's easier for other people to see what we've lost and not ourselves. People have been telling me what a good job I'm doing and can notice the changes...but I didn't. Then I looked down and noticed I was swimming in my pants. LOLOL I can't see it when I look in the mirror, **** I can't even see it when I look at comparison shots. But you know what? I can tell by the fact that I can walk to the bus stop now without gasping for air. I get up from my bed more easily without getting winded. I can walk 2 miles!! And be sweating my a** off but I can do it...and that's not something I could do 50 pounds ago. It's way too easy to jump off the wagon when we think about all that we still have left to lose. But I try to think of it this way...if we go back to our old ways, time is still going to go by, the years are still going to change, and we could've spent all the time we moped around to be losing weight. We'll get there! Keep your head up.

Congrats!! Glad to see you are still plugging away. Enjoy the small victories.

85 lbs lost is amazing! You're doing a great job and even though you can't see a difference, there is a difference! I have lost over 20 lbs and I can't see a difference at all, not even on my comparison pics but one day I will look in the mirror and see a difference and I think you will too. Just keep on keeping on and your body & mind will come together.

nicolae 08-07-2012 04:18 PM

wow 85lbs is mega! well done! im sure you can tell your nearly 100lbs smaller than you were!!
Can you imagine taping a 10 pound bag of flour to each leg, one to each your waist and bust, 20 pounds of sugar to your back and one to your behind and a 5 pound slab of butter to your neck? All total 85 pounds....

SerenityDiva 08-07-2012 05:55 PM

You're doing great! You will get there, unfortunately it take more time than most of us like. But I'm proud of you for doing so keep on! Stop your vacation before you stay lol.

That's a HUGE achievement! Don't be discouraged. As you continue losing, the loss becomes exponentially more noticeable. I know you know that, but sometimes I like to be reminded :) I like the paper towel roll analogy another lady on this forum used to explain (can't remember who at the moment...) — when it's a full roll, you don't notice each sheet removed, but the closer you get to the end, the more drastic every sheet seems.

Congratulations on your big weight loss! :cp:

Those of us that have a lot to lose will be here for a few years more.
We will all lose the weigh eventually. Then we will have to maintain the loss.

My weight has slowed down a lot recently, but this is a lifestyle change for all of us.
It is not easy, and it does take a lot of time to change our eating habits.
But we are all doing it.
But it does seem so very slow,, doesn't it.?

85 pounds is amazing! :carrot: Just keep plugging away and you will be able to SEE the results soon, I'm sure. I know I don't always feel smaller, but I just think when I'm lugging around my 30 pound toddler, I used to have the equivalent of a couple of toddlers to lug around everywhere I went.
