Size 18 to size 8!!!!!

I am so excited- I ran in to Target today and decided to try on some denim capris. I started to pick up a size 12, then remembered that last weekend when I bought a new pair of dress pants they were a 10. I thought when I bought those it was just a fluke, because, while my 12's are not tight, I hadn't thought they were really big.

Anyway I tried 2 pairs of capris in 10 and both were too big. I figured "here we go again" because I ALWAYS seem to be between sizes, and I was sure an 8 would be way too small. Well they WEREN'T. They weren't even tight!!! I can't even describe how happy it made me. I practically cried, and I am not a crier, or a very emotional person normally.

I never in my wildest dreams, when I started this, thought I would hit an 8. I sort of tentatively wanted to be a 10 and didn't even think that was realistic.

Of course an 8 of today is not the 8 that it was years ago but STILL- I'm so excited anyway. My size is a single digit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:carrot:

You know, I look at myself and I can see I've lost a lot but it hasn't really sunk in. And I don't understand it because I still have plenty of fat hanging on my belly. There is just no way I should be a size 8. It almost scares me and makes me think I'm not seeing reality. People call me "skinny" but I KNOW that I'm not, and of course they just see me in clothes and are comparing- so I'm "skinny" compared to what I used to look like, to them. I am most definitely still fat! How can I be a size 8? I hold them up and they look so tiny, like doll clothes. How the **** am I getting in to them? I'm so confused.

But mostly I'm just ecstatic! That's 5 sizes down! 18 to 8 is TEN NUMBERS lol.

I didn't want to cut the tags off of them. I have looked at the tags 5 times just since this afternoon. I'm kind of afraid I'll see a 1 in front of the 8 and realize I made a mistake!

This makes you crazy, doesn't it? Now I've just spent $40 on stuff I can't even wear to work, and I wasn't going to buy anything brand new until I hit my goal. I've just been getting clothes at Goodwill. But I was insane. I wanted to buy every pair of size 8's in the store!

This was, hands down, the most fun I've ever had in a dressing room in my entire life!!!!!

Oh, so very cool! Dropping sizes is so much fun! And it does take time for reality to set in, but it's a reality you created. Congrats on so much success!

Dropping dress sizes is such a boost! Well done :)

I've just started getting into UK size 12s (think that's a US 8, but not sure) and the first time I was soooo excited I was skipping around grinning like a loon :D

You are doing great!

HUGE Kudos to you!!!

I am with you, I can't believe I am down to a size 10 from a 20 - I try on those sizes and I still have a hard time "seeing" and "believing."

I read somewhere recently that the longer you remain at these healthy/happy sizes/weights, the more in "sinks" in and the more likely you are to continue with the new lifestyle. So ENJOY it and BELIEVE it! You are doing awesome! :D

Woohoo! Congrats on a slimmer size! ;)

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is SUCH an awesome feeling, and I can feel all your excitement from your post. The weight you've lost is such a huge accomplishment, and I'm really glad you bought the pants. Wear them often and enjoy them - until they get too big on you!! :D

I understand completely what you mean about not believing you fit into the sizes, holding up clothes you own and wondering how something that seems so small can possibly fit you, etc. It's taking my brain a long time to catch up to my body.
