What is your weight loss equivalent to?
We haven't had a thread like this in a while and I thought it might be fun again. How much have you lost and what it it equivalent to in real life?
For instance, the other day I was walking out of the market and noticed a display of bird seed. The really, really big bags of bulk bird seed. They are 50 pounds. I instantly thought, that is about how much I have lost so far. Imagine myself throwing one of those on my back and then going to the meat counter and asking for 5 pounds of ground beef and strapping that to my front (probably the boobs ) and walk around like that!!!! That is how much extra I was carrying around. It really hit home to me and made me feel better that although I have been stuck in the 170s for a while, I have at least maintained here and I never want to gain back that big bag of bird seed to carry around, ever! So what is your weight loss equivalent to? |
my weightloss is equivalent to 1, normal sized, very short person.
|
I've lost a 6th-grader. A short one, like I was. LOL 63 pounds gone!
|
ive lsot a thrid or 4th grader at 53lbs!!!
|
wow, we've lost so many children
Imagine carrying them around on your backs all day! |
Your age equivalents for kids has me cracking up. My 1st grader (still 6 years old) weighs 70 pounds and he's not fat!
Well, as of this morning, I've lost just about 85 pounds this round of weight loss. I don't know what that is equivalent to, but I sure wouldn't want to be hauling it on my body. No wonder exercise is so much easier to do - I'm not carrying all that any more.. So, that would be 17 packs of flour or sugar. The weight of a good sized golden retriever. Something big and something I probably wouldn't want to carry! If I go from my high weight - it would be a short woman at her ideal weight at 105 pounds lost total. Now that is frightening to think about. |

I've lost 35. That is a commercial size box of diced mozzarella. It's 140 sticks of butter. It's 7 bags of flour. It's a three year old.

I was doing some research on the spike diet and found this post. i thought it was hilarious, so i'm bumping it.
i've lost 47 pounds, which is the equivalent of a very chubby toddler. :D actually, i've noticed that since i've lost this weight, i can pick up heavy things without my back killing me the next day. :carrot: makes a big difference. |

52 lbs. = 208 sticks of butter or a sack of fertilizer or 4.5 bags of kitty litter... take your pick. It's interesting to think about this. Thanks for reminding me.

Do you ever feel ashamed when people notice your weight loss
Most of times I feel soo uncomfortable when people comment on my weight loss.
I HAVE NEVER BROUGHT IT UP TO PEOPLE. I have only discussed weight loss with people who are close to me and knew me when I was not overweight. I have been grilled about why I decided to lose weight and one of my many coworker asked how much weight I lost! I have been asked how much I plan to lose to exactly what I'm doing! Do you feel uncomfortable knowing your a topic of conversation and how do you gracefully change the subject? I feel like I have lost my privacy along with the weight. |
2 bags of dog food. Oh my greatness, I can hardly lift one off the shelf, let alone two.
Scary stuff! I have not lost anything for a month but managed to maintain, Ive decided to go back to basics. |
It's quite incredible when you talk in terms of 5th graders haha!
Well done everybody! |
