I've been a member of this site for several years, and have lost massive amounts of weight only to gain it all back again. It's incredibly discouraging.
This time around, I'm sort of putting myself through "detox" before I start a formal weight loss program in January (through my church). First, about a month ago I stopped buying the bags of candy every night after work. Then three weeks ago I stopped bringing home the expired pastries from work (I'm a barista at Starbucks). Finally, I began walking 3-4 times a week and limiting my calories to a still generous 2,200 a day, and tracking through MyFitnessPal.
Well, this morning I weighed myself this morning and discovered I'd lost an even 10 pounds! I was practically jumping up and down when I saw the number, especially since this week was Thanksgiving and all.
Basically I just wanted to share my joy and get some encouragement.
