I guess I achieved a mini goal after all!

I was really bummed when I woke up today and stepped on the scale only to realize I didn't reach my goal of losing 70 pounds by my 4 month mark. I knew after splurging over my birthday weekend it would be a much more difficult task then I had originally thought, and overall I'm darn proud that all my hard work is paying off...but I was still a tiny bit disappointed that once again I was so close, yet so far from reaching a goal I had set for myself. So I was sitting here stewing and mentally kicking myself when I had a flash and realized that losing 68 pounds means that I have lost 20% of my starting weight! Hooray! :carrot:

Wow! A fifth of the way there - Congratulations! I have a birthday week coming up (my husband's on Sunday, and mine on the Friday after), and I'm a little nervous about it.

I've been going to they gym 4 or 5 days a week and counting calories. I try to keep it about 1500 calories a day and that works for me. I was eating 1200-ish calories a day but i got stuck and noticed when I ate a little more I seemed to drop weight again. As for the birthday weekend thing...don't stress about it. It's a time to enjoy and celebrate. The only thing I wish I had done is remember that while it's ok to treat myself, but I don't need to gorge myself. Everything is ok in moderation once in awhile. If you want cheesecake, have the cheesecake, but have a half piece. My biggest problem was that I drank a lot, which isn't awful, but it definitely made me more lax about my snacking choices...lol. Ultimately, you are in control of the choices you make, so don't stress. And if you do gain a pound or two, remember: you lost it once, you can do it again. It's not a deal breaker!
