50 Pounds Down and Pictures to Share...

2 Attachment(s)
I had to share these pics with you ladies because I was very proud!

Last summer, I was over 200lbs. This is when I started my weight loss journey. My boyfriend and I hiked up this really steep "dome" in northern Wisconsin. I was so out of shape that it nearly killed me!

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago... I went up to that same dome in northern Wisconsin and hiked it again. It was SO much easier now, it's like I just flew up there! I felt strong and confident and happy instead of miserable and weak and heavy.

Anyway, I have pictures from both occasions... and wow! Looking at these pictures were really inspirational for me because I could REALLY see what a difference 50 pounds makes! In the before, I'm not even facing the camera straight-on because I'm embarrassed about how wide I am. Also? My face looks SO different! I feel very motivated to keep going!

Haha I totally get the hiking thing. At various (lower) weights my previous boyfriends have been frustrated at my hiking finesse/lack thereof. Hoping I can change that this time! It's a matter of increasing fitness *and* losing weight. Thanks for the motivational story!

Thanks! It took me about 1 year to lose the 50lbs (I plateaued a lot here and there). I've been eating Jenny Craig (my sister is a JC consultant, so I've got some connections) and through a LOT of hard work and exercise I toned up a lot. In the beginning I used my Wii Fit and then when that got too easy I used fitness DVDs: Jillian Michaels and Jackie Warner mostly. Lately I've been doing C25K along with some biking, water aerobics and fitness DVDs as well. Basically staying active everyday.

I am a slow loser too. It took me about a year to lose 50 pounds, but I'm okay with that. As long as it comes off, right? I'm actually more determined now that I've realized how much I've accomplished and how close I am to goal and I've been dropping pounds more quickly now.

Good luck with your weight loss, you can do it!:)

bigmamatexas 07-21-2010 04:46 PM

thank you i did make my mind up dec 2007 it was time and i did lose 75 in 2008 but after i reached 255 i stop losing and gain 20 bk it would just go down then up and it continue. Then Jan 2010 I desided I was going to do it this yr. I spend at least 2 hrs in the pool 1 hr of water arobics and the other hr I do laps and walk around. so far i've lost 17 lbs this yr. so yes i can do it and i will. I would like to be down to 235 by the end of the yr and my goal for next yr lose 40 and then finish up in 2012 another 40 which i will be down to 150. My question is am i'm expecting big numbers too quick? someone at the pool said I was that I need to be happy with what I done and not expeck the large number. But I feel I need to make the goals I have so I will always remember that I got to keep working. Another question is ive tryed to put my tracker on here and I seem to cant do that. What do I need to do to get it to show up. Thanks for the help that anyone can give me.:swim:
