onederland!

  • I made it this morning!

So excited. Some of you know I had hoped to be there by Labor Day, then by Thanksgiving, then by New Year's...I wasn't as strict to plan as I could have been at times (self-induced plateaus) and there were times when I felt like I was doing everything right and not losing, and then I began strength training which slows scale loss but improves body composition. So it has been a long, slow road but I made it! 199.5! If I was more technologically savvy I'd post pictures.

And just around the corner I'll cross the line to 'no longer obese' BMI. I feel like I'm at that point where I'm not really 'fat' any more - just on the big side of average, do you know what I mean? Really enjoying being more physically active and have the confidence to do things I didn't before - like indoor rock climbing, contact improvisation dance. And loving being a size 12 basically - and some 10s, which means I can walk into just about any store and know I can pull something off the rack which will fit me.

Thanks to all of you at 3FC for your support! And to all of you out there who are losing super-slow, or have added challenges like thyroid and insulin resistance issues - be assured and reminded YOU can do it, too. It might take more time and effort than you'd like, but slow and steady wins the race!
  • Congratulations... That is truly fantastic...
  • Congrats. I am so close yet so far away from reaching that magic number. 5 pounds away for me. But I have been 5 pounds away for the last two weeks, it is like my body is scared of seeing that number again. But you are right, slow and steady does win the race, so when I do see that number, it will be for the last time! Good for you!
  • Congratulations!!
  • Congratulations!!! You did it. You hung in there when the going got tough and you came out on top. Keep up the good work.
  • Awesome job! Can't wait to be there myself!
  • CONGRATS! Keep going... You'll be there before you know it!
