Default mini goals thanks to the sun

one of my personal mini-goals was to actually jog this spring, rather than walk. i never thought of myself as a jogger (mostly due to chest size), but when i started jogging with WII a couple months ago, i realized that it wasn't so bad. before i knew it i was jogging for 17-19 minutes straight. i know jogging in place is different than actually jogging so i set the goal to jog on the road in April (b/c it is cold in Michigan until at least April). but yesterday we got some sun, so i bundled up and took the dog for a walk. after 12 minutes of walking, it literally felt like my body was bored. there was no talking myself into it, my body just started running. and so i jogged for about another 12 minutes.

also, it is official, i am COMFORTABLY wearing size 16, consistently. hooray

That is great, and really inspiring to hear. I have always told people that "I have never been a runner, but I do like to walk". I am hoping to work up to that point. I am walking a 5k this spring that I secretly have been hoping I could run by next spring. It was really nice to read your post. It gives me hope!

That's great! I definitely think the Wii running helps bridge the gap between being a complete non-runner and running outside.

That is awesome!! Isn't it funny how our bodies react?? The WII can totally help us if we take advantage of it. I want to try the hoola-hooping lol

I used to be that way too years ago when I 1st started jogging. I was like, "pfft, I can't do that! I can't breathe!" After walking a while, it got really boring (for me), like nothing is happening, I wanted more. I started rotating walking & running for a few minutes then I was literally a running fool in no time lol

Congrats to you!!

Good for you!

I like you never thought I'd jog either, but once you begin it becomes addictive. I started last jogging last year and surprised myself by doing a half marathon....aiming for the NYC full marathon this year.

Now I find if I'm stressed I jog, whereas before I would have comfort ate. This wasn't a conscious decision, it's as if your body knows there's a more effective stress relief mechanism and drives you towards that instead.

Best of luck with the jogging..and above all.. enjoy it!

new mini goal: a coworker came to my office to ask if she was crazy or if i had loss weight. i do NOT ever talk about losing weight or eating better or anything like that around friends and coworkers, so the fact that she noticed means that much more to me. last week my sister said i look good, but it didn't encourage me b/c i assumed my mom told her i was losing weight. my brain works like that. anyway, it is my first official unsolicited compliment.
