  • Sometimes I find achievement in the silliest things. I take immense pleasure in seeing the scale drop, or musing about how much smaller my butt looks than it did last month (even though it is still quite large). I enjoy it when I can go an extra five minutes in my workout, or lift another 5lbs.

Today, however, I'm exceeded myself in silliness while seeking a thrill of pleasure from my small progress.

I pulled my size 14 jeans up. While they were buttoned. I pulled those babies up OVER MY BUTT AND THIGHS while they were BUTTONED. Two months ago, I used to pull them on while unfastened, flop on my back on the bed, dangle my legs off the edge, squeeeeze the sides together, and button 'em before struggling (sometimes to the point of cutting my fingers on the metal tab) to zip them, as well.

    ....Yay. <3333

And that's my silly moment. What are yours?

  • Hey - that's not silly - all of us here know that's a MAJOR victory!

Keep up the good work and all these "silly" achievements will bring you to your goal before you know it - how great is that?!

  • That's not silly at all! I have a pair of black jeans that I haven't been able to wear since before I fell pregnant with my first child. I finally put them on last month and they fit perfectly. Ever since then, I have been wearing them all the time, my form of a victory dance or something, even though they are falling off my butt now and the back of the cuffs keep getting caught under my shoes, lol.

    Good for you!
  • Great achievement!!! I have some 14's put up just for this occasion. Can't wait for it to happen to me. Keep up the good work!!!
  • Keep up the good work. What has been the most fum for me is trying on all my old clothes. I keep track of how they fit and wait a few weeks and try them on again to see if there is an improvement.
  • I like your silly achievement:-))) Its cool and you are funny, great!
I am dreaming about that I colud zip-up jeans that I boguht a month ago...they are 14 I think and cant zip-up them, but I bought them anyway because I think I will zip-up them one day :-))) Keep on good work!
  • Hi, guys! Thanks for sharing in my achievement! My new goal is to fit myself into a pair of NON STRETCH 12s that I got at the thrift store. I wish to do that WITHOUT acquiring the most embarrassing amount of muffin top ever. I plan to try them on again when I reach my next 5lb goal. I also purchased some 11s...just in case. I fear they still might not fit, however, as they are pretty low-rise and I really will ALWAYS have an enormous pear-shaped arse.
  • Congrats!!! That's a great goal to reach, sometimes even more satisfying than watching the scale drop. :3 Good luck with those non-stretch ones! I'm aiming for a size 12 too. I have the same pear-butt problem. ;P But don't worry, they make jeans for gals like us!
  • Congratulations - clothes never lie! Well done and here's to many more "silly" (NOT) moments on your successful journey.
  • congrats!
That definitely was NOT silly. Actually, it's probably one of the best rewards to self ever--can't weight (!) to do it myself. I have an entire jean wardrobe just weighting for me to re-aquaint myself.

  • I know exactly how you feel. My silly goal occurred just this weekend. My children who are teenagers have some Medium and Large sweatshirts while all of mine are 2x's. I needed a sweatshirt and I went to my son's closet and put on his medium. While it was snug, I did not have any problem pulling it over my head!!!!
  • That's not silly at all. I have a goal for the month of getting back into my size 16 jeans. 3 months ago I could get them over my hips, 1 month ago, I could get them on but couldn't zip them, now I can get them on, zip them but can barely breathe in them. I think I'll make it. I plan to wear them on the plane ride home for Christmas.
  • Well done.

It's not really silly but a great achievement.
  • Well done - Keep it up!
  • Well Done!!! I can't wait to fit into my old jeans. What an awesome moment! I would have been dancing around the house.
