Photos. We want photos! (not of the 5 yr old, although I'm sure the kid is cute).

Congrats!

Windchime 07-31-2009 10:00 AM

Funny, I looked at your avatar just this morning and thought, "She's looking slim and trim!" And then you post this. Congrats, mom! But you better keep running--I'm right on your heels! I changed my ticker to -40 today!

JulieJ08 07-31-2009 10:21 AM

Oh god, I can't believe you used that for a thread title. I feel jerked around, TBH. I'm gonna feel skeptical next time someone posts a thread title that makes me think they're suffering, and I'm sad about that. Just my 2c, YMMV.

midwife 07-31-2009 10:57 AM

Congrats!!!

:carrot:

becca77 07-31-2009 10:59 AM

Great analogy. Really puts it into perspective! Awesome! :carrot:

jendiet 07-31-2009 11:10 AM

ditto, on scaring the pee out of me! Congrats on losing that weight though!

sweetandspicy 07-31-2009 12:03 PM

great job on the weight loss!!!!

bargoo 07-31-2009 12:25 PM

I started to tear up until I read your post. You sure got my attention ! Congratulations on your loss.

Eumie 07-31-2009 02:29 PM

Heh. I don't know why, but I automatically thought that it was a thread about losing the equivalent of a 5 yos weight.

Congrats! And keep on workin' it!

momof5k 07-31-2009 05:22 PM

My apologies to anyone that I worried or offended. It was not my intention.

I had just weighed myself and then my daughter and....it just came clear that that was how much weight I had lost. I was trying to imagine going about my day, doing what I do, all the while giving her a piggyback ride (or carrying that weight in some way) and couldn't imagine it. No wonder I feel so much better!

Again...so sorry if my post offended anyone. :(

Pita09 07-31-2009 05:38 PM

I read your post and immediately thought "Oh my gosh, how sad." and then thought, "she wouldn't make a tragic post in the mini goal section."

I think it's great that you have lost that much weight!!:carrot:

Yeah, that is why it never occured to me that it might upset anyone. But I know that I sometimes forget what section I am reading so I can see know how it might happen.

Thank you for all the congratulations!!

For what it's worth, I knew exactly what you meant in your title. :D Especially in the mini-goal section...as if anyone would post the loss of a child in the mini-goal section. :dizzy:

Anyway, congrats on your loss. I often think of weight loss in terms of my children's weight as well....My 17 year old, 5'10" son weighs 175...I lost him off my thighs and butt! ;)

Red Hook Mom 08-03-2009 10:40 AM

Great job and congrats! And what a great way to look at it...I want to lose my five year old too, plus possibly the dog.

I also noticed that the thread was in the 'mini-goal' section right away, so went immediately to amused instead of sad. Thought the title was kind of catchy. :)

Congratulations honey!

Mickeypnd 08-03-2009 02:23 PM

lmao. congrats!!

better health3 08-03-2009 03:51 PM
