Burning the Spanx
 

This weekend I went on a mini road trip with some friends to Montreal. As usual, I put on my trusty Spanx bodysuit first thing in the morning to keep my muffin top in check. At the hotel later that night I noticed that a seam had come loose and there was a large hole along the right side, and unfortunately there wasn't a sewing kit available anywhere. The next day I had no choice but to go Spanx-free. As I pulled up my jeans and secured the button I fully expected the spillage to make me wince... until I realized that there wasn't any. No muffin top, no roll, no extra flap. I'm even starting to see an outline of my upper abdominals, kind of a baby 4-pack. Going out and walking around Montreal without my Spanx was so darn freeing (I know, I know, I rolled my eyes too). It's just amazing how things are finally starting to take shape!

By the way, I lit my Spanx on fire last night. Burned to a crisp.

Congratulations!!! What a moment! For years I thought Spanx were a blessing, but now I am sure they are a curse. Esp on hot and humid summer days!
