First mini goal met - I lost 68 pounds!

I have just had the pleasure of making a new ticker as I have met my first mini goal of losing 68 pounds! I know it is a strange amount but it is the lowest number I have seen on a scale for many years! I'm having a really tough time at the moment, I'm waiting for gall bladder surgery and the only food I can keep down and that doesnt give me agonising pain is cereal and despite this restiction meaning I am eating very little my weight has barely moved these last few weeks - but I must try and see the bigger picture and be positive!
My wedding ring is now so loose I cant wear it, none of my original clothes fit, there is so much more room between me and the steering wheel and I have lost 53 inches from about my person.
Having said that I cant see a difference when I look in the mirror - I just see how much further I have to go. Think I'm just grumpy on my enforced cereal only diet! Seeing the specialist doctor next week so hoping they can advise me as I cant keep this up til the op! Wouldnt be too bad if the weight was dropping off but never mind! :dizzy:

Wow! You've set and achieved a pretty ambitious 'mini-goal'. Good job!

I'm sorry about the cereal-only diet. That's GOT to be hard. I wish I had any advice but I don't. I hope your surgery goes smoothly and comes quickly.

Congratulations on your big 68!

I'm sure after surgery when you get back onto real food and real calories, the weight will start pouring off soon. Hope they sort you out quickly!

Thanks so much guys! I've had a really crappy day and am just about to go to bed and reading your replies has put such a smile on my face and I'm sure it will help me drift off to sleep better! I suppose 68 pounds isn't that 'mini' - thanks for pointing it out it makes me feel so much better!:)

WOW, what a mini-goal, haha! Congrats!

I had my gallbladder removed and I know how you feel. I didn't make it to the scheduled date and had to have emergency surgery so glad you are hanging on until. You should bounce back just fine. My recovery time took a little longer due to the infection that prompted emergency surgery, but even then I was back to my old self in three weeks.

Good luck and here's hoping for a speedy recovery!!!

What a great job you've done! Congratulations! I know it's hard to see when it's your own weight loss since you see yourself everyday. :smug: But believe me, others see it. You'll feel soooooo much better when you have your surgery! I had my gallbladder out in 01 and have felt so much better since. Like you, I couldn't tolerate anything beforehand. Lots of people have said they have post surgery issues (diarrhea, etc.) but I've had nothing, just a great result. Crossing my fingers for you!
