Default did really well hiking

Went camping/hiking this weekend with DH with most of it uphill. Can't believe that I was going for 3 hours at a time (I didn't have the backpack though).

We've decided to do these hikes next:

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing (8 hours)

Milford Track (3-4 days)

Routeburn Track (3-4 days)

I can really get into this tramping thing.

We haven't been to Canada before, but have a friend in Montana that we might go see next time we're in the States. He's a hiking buff. If we see him, we'll take a week or so and go hiking with him.

Despite the steep (at times) climbs, I never really ever felt totally exhausted; I always felt that there was more that I could do, that I could make it to the top of the Ngamoko Summit track or to the top of the Panekiri Bluffs.

If anyone ever gets the chance to go to New Zealand, take a rental car and go to Lake Waikaremoana for a day. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but it is just spectacular!

Very cool! I live in Florida and keep lamenting to dh that I'd love to live somewhere where fun hiking like that is available.
