Working up to a 10 minute mile!
Inspired by jerzeezfinest, I'm going to make a goal of running a ten-minute mile. I don't plan on running as a regular part of my exercise regime, but I would like to be fit enough to run a ten-minute mile.
[EDIT: On this thread I made a 13 week schedule for achieving a ten minute mile, by increasing my speed a little each week. I got on the treadmill this morning to try to walk a mile at 3.0 instead of 2.5, and whoa Nelly, that was fast. I ended up walking about a half mile at 3.0. So it's going to take me a lot longer than 13 weeks to make it to a ten minute mile.] OK, taking it a lot slower here. Feel free to join me. MY PROGRESS: 1-8 .5mi @ 3mph |
