Progress, not perfection!
This is the Body For Life mantra - learn to be happy with progress, and don't expect perfection!
I had two examples of progress yesterday. This'll take a bit to explain, so bear w/ me. I work at home managing medical transcriptionists all over the United States. I often (read: always) work in my sweat pants or PJs. Why? Because they are comfortable! My jeans are all too tight to sit in all day while I'm working. So when I run errands, I'll get dressed in my jeans/whatever, then come home and change back into my comfy pants again. Yesterday, my husband came home from work, and he noticed I still had my jeans on. I had gotten dressed to take my daughter to school, came home, got back to work, and didn't even think about it. My jeans now fit well enough to wear all day while I"m working! The other thing that happened was I was wearing workout pants w/o pockets to go to the gym last nite, and I needed my fanny pack to put my MP3 player in. Couldn't find it - so daughter loaned me hers. Hubby pointed out that I bought that pack at the zoo a few months ago, and I couldn't extend it enough to get it around my waist. Last night, I put it on w/o even thinking about it. So my motto for today is to believe in the "progress, not perfection" mantra. And to eat clean all the time.... |
