Normal BMI !!!!!!!

What a long strange journey it's been!

For the first time in about twenty years I am classified as having normal BMI. Its been surreal at some points to be finally close to my goal weight. I was reading Karen Barnaby's old threads and she talked about feeling bony. I certainly feel that way. My arms look small. One good thing - the boobs didn't go down much but gravity is definitely there. Other women have posted about wrinkles, loose skin etc. from losing weight. They are there but I don't care. I feel incredibly healthy and energetic.

I won't take goal photos until goal is reached. That is going to be so much fun. Thanks to all who have shared goals and mini goals.

Feeling so happy today. Just wanted to share online with people who have been through the blood, sweat and tears. :woohoo:

I think hitting normal BMI was my favorite day of this whole journey. It felt sooo strange -- the whole collar bone and cheek bone thing. I'm pretty sure it will surpass how I am going to feel when I reach my actual goal. In truth, that actually makes me a little nervous...the whole transition to maintenance feels like it is looming. I want to make sure I do it right, and keep this weight OFF!

Such a fun goal to reach. And I really did feel like my body was different around that point. Even though I was still pretty far from goal, it's like turning a corner.

CountingDown 11-05-2008 07:25 PM

Congrats! Not far to go now! And - I completely agree - I will take my wrinkles and excess skin over the fat ANY day of the week. Don't you almost float as you walk across a room?

kelly315 11-05-2008 07:43 PM

congrats!!!

Yeah, imagine that, being normal anything for me!

I think when it loomed last time I was not ready to deal with all that came with maintenance. I have been reading the maintainers threads to prepare and so glad that so may people stay to share their expertise. It does feel surreal, like I am in anothers body.

I think you will be fine, and we may not do it perfectly but it'll be fun.

Yep, along with the goal pants this is fun. And I was surprised too at my body feeling different. I was this weight before but I guess I never fully appreciated it when I was "normal".
Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, it is so much fun. On my daily walks it is apparent that I have been carrying a big burden for a long time.

Good luck on your journey!
