I am acceptable!
I had my hydrostatic weighing (weighing body fat under water). I was also weighed in a BodPod (measures body fat based on air disbursement). BodPod Test I came in at 21%. Hydrostatic weighing I came in at 23%. Up to 25% is considered "acceptable". 25+% is considered obese. When I took the hydrostatic test back in December I was at 29.2% 17-20% is considered fit. I will work towards that goal.
For those who don't speak geek, I am no longer OBESE (still considered obese due to BMI charts, but that doesn't take in muscle mass). I am NORMAL! I will go back in 6 months (equipment like this can only be found at universities, due to costs involved), and hope I can say I am FIT not FAT. My goal is to be FIT by Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I am going to reconsider my goals. While I would love to see ONEderland, I am going to shoot for 220lbs (which is a nice 100kg). According to the calculations, if I continue at my present pace, if/when I get down to 200lbs, I'll be at 12% body fat. That is damn near Mr Olympia :strong: type numbers. 220lbs will put me at 18%, I am currently 230lbs |
:yay: :celebrate: :yay:
This is FANTASTIC news!!!! :congrat: |

Edited to add - Your numbers are much better than acceptable! |
I was looking for an accurate bodyfat measurement. I knew about this water weighing, but did not know how to go about it. My doctor couldn't find any info either. I knew calipers wouldn't work on me, due to the skin issue. A trainer recommended I contact the university. After getting the run arounds, I finally got a hold of someone. There are other tests available, if I were a student. the only thing made available to the public was these 2 tests (the BodPod is brandnew, they just got it!) I was used as a guinea pig today, to train a student how to perform these tests. It didn't bother me whatsoever. Anyways, here is today's pic. Any takers?
