I Love My Body - Changes Beginning
So far so good. I lost my first ten pounds, and it's coming down very quickly still (so I'm riding that for motivation for now until the loss slows down). I've also already noticed that I lost my little bit of a double chin (despite my size, it's always the last thing I get and first thing I lose), and my butt's feeling quite a bit firmer - I guess all the hills I'm doing are paying off. lol Honestly, as much as I love watching that number drop on the scale, the differences I can feel mean a good bit more sometimes. :) This is a pretty typical start. Next should be my legs... now if I can only stick with it long enough to get rid of this midsection, I'll be one happy camper. :)

Hey Jen!
I'm a Jen too...the world can never have enough of us, can it? :p You sound like you are doing so well so far...10 lbs. is a GREAT start and congrats on getting rid of your double chin. A firmer butt is always a good thing too! And yes, the feeling of losing weight and knowing that we're treating our body well is just so great...I totally agree. I have been on this journey for only a day and already I feel sooo much better. Keep up the excellent work! |
YAY! Good job! Feels great, doesn't it?

:bravo: way to go keep up the great work!

Losing inches was always more important to me too. My grandmom always told me to never go by the scale, but how your clothes fit on you. And I've definitely noticed a change in how my clothes fit. When you start dropping beltloops, it really gives your confidence a BIG boost. Best of luck to you. You can do it!

Congrats!!! The scale isn't always honest with us so it is good that you are noticing other changes!!! Keep it up girlie and you will love the energy and stamina you develop.:carrot:

Great job! The pounds lost one at a time add up fast to big changes!

Good for you.
Keep up the good work. |
grongrat it's always hard to loose the first ten pounds.

If it weren't for those other changes, I probably would have really struggled this last week. I couldn't get the scale to budge... other than UP slightly. Grrrr. But with my "official" weigh-in today, I'm down a little bit more, so I'm happy. At a little under 14 lbs down now. :)
The odd thing was that I'd still been eating well, and working out more; not less. I was doing around 3 miles a morning walking. This past Saturday I upped that daily route to 4 miles. On top of that, I'd get random bursts of energy and go out a second time - the last two days for example I did an extra 3 mile walk (7 miles total each day). I know the increase was probably a muscle thing though - starting to see changes in the thighs and hips now, and I'm noticing that I'm feeling stronger in the lower body and not struggling at all with hills (one of the reasons I changed my route). :) So I'm feeling pretty good... if nothing else, I've noticed that my entire disposition seems to have changed since getting into the daily workouts... I smile a lot more. :) |
