This seems like such a minor thing, but it's a huge victory for me. Two of my biggest issues with food are portion control and compulsive eating. If it's there, especially on my plate, I'll eat it.
Well, tonight is the first time I've had to deal with REAL temptation since I started this adventure, and I said no. One of my favorite healthy-er meals is turkey burgers with lowfat cheese on a grain bun, with sliced baked potato slices. I automatically took my usual two burgers, limited my potatoes, took more green beans than I usually might, and sat down to eat most of my meal, then to my computer to track the points.
Well, when I saw the HUGE amount of points eating two burgers would get me, I stopped, considered how satisfied I already was with what I had eaten, and decided to say NO to the second burger. I wrapped it in plastic and put it in the fridge.
It sounds silly, but this is something I would NEVER have done even two or three weeks ago. This is the first time I've REALLY felt on my way to a healthier way of life. I mean, I COULD have used those points. I COULD have eaten that yummy burger... but I DIDN'T!
Let us dance in celebration. *G*
