I went shopping for a dress today, something I usually do not enjoy but I have a wedding next week to go to and I needed something. So I go into the store, get a 16 and it's too big. Get a 14, still too big. Got the 12 on, zipped and it fits awesome. I know dresses and pants are totally different, at least for me, but it felt good as **** to see the number 12 on the back of this dress! Needless to say I bought it :)

YAY!!!! I know that feeling. It's pretty awesome. :D

And dresses do fit different... but I always thought they fit smaller than pants (as in if you're a 10 in pants you'll probably be like a 12/14 in dresses...) but I could be wrong.

I usually wear a smaller dress than pants, but even so it still felt good. I am not in a 14 yet in pants, so it was a nice push to keep me on plan!

dresses vs pants issue

It all depends upon your body shape....a person that carries their weight around their hips/legs "pears" tend to be small up top. So in dresses they are smaller if the dress is A line or flares out after the waist.

If you are busty you tend to need to fit that body part first which puts you in a bigger size than if you have a small waist and hips.

It is all about genetics

That's awesome. Is much as I look forward to scale losses, somehow going down in clothing size gives me a big boost. Have a great time in your new dress. ;)
