Last week I asked the doctor if when I came the following week (today) if I could get my cholesterol and triglycerides checked as I had never really had them checked. You know how it goes, you know you're eating complete rubbish and you know they're going to be off the chart so why fan the flames? Ignorance truly is bliss.
She said she would have them tested for me.Well, I was told I had to fast for twelve hours which while not necessarily being a problem sort of threw a wrench into my eating routine. I'm on LAWL and am in a routine where I eat breakfast when I wake up and then my mid-morning snack by about 10:30 or so. Regardless, I fatsed for the required amount of time and had my blood taken and the tests run. Now, I have no idea what the numbers were before I started LAWL at the end of October but I know what they are as of today and they are down well into the desirable range! My cholesterol is 3.47 and the printout shows that anything under 5.20 mmol/L is good, triglycerides are 1.01 with under 2.26 mmol/L being good.
The doctor seemed a little surprised that they were where they are. I told her that diet and exercise go a long way. I have no idea what my levels were at but I'm certain that they were much, much higher in the past. I wish I had've had them checked previously so I would have something to compare today's results to. Oh well, I'm not complaining at all, believe you me!
