I weighed in a few days ago at 169 lbs!!
Exciting for me, a completely irrelevant number to you. Simply, it means I've lost over 50 lbs off my highest weight of around 220 lbs. It also puts me at a BMI of 29, aka overweight! I never thought anyone could be this ecstatic about being overweight, but it's a much nicer title than "obese" or even "morbidly obese". Another reason for celebration is I've grown 1/4 of an inch!! I have been 5'3" for several years, and was sadly assured I'd always stay that height. However, a recent trip to the doctor's puts me at 5'3 & 1/4 ! I'm guessing that since I've lost all that weight, my body realized "Hey, this isn't so hard after all!" and started growing again. If I'm lucky, I'll be 5'4 one day. I've got time right? I'm only 19. :
I've posted a link to some of my pictures above. I hope you can see the change, I'm really trying to. Sometimes I still feel like I haven't changed at all, but the pictures are helping a lot. I still have a ton of work to do. Another 40 lbs to lose before I'm at my target weight, but I'm in no hurry to get there. I'm attempting to focus more on toning now, because exercise hasn't played as huge a role as diet did in losing the weight. Now I really need to work out to eliminate some of the flab. Wish me luck! I'll update a little further down the road.
Well done, the pics are great, the face shots are particularly amazing, the difference between heaviest and now is astonishing!!!
I know exactly how you feel, I moved into BMI Obese a couple of weeks ago, and I can't wait to get to overweight, but I have to say, weirdly, i was pretty thrilled with Obese, rather than Class2 or Morbidly.
I think 50 lbs is a hugh milestone in the weight loss journy! I am getting pretty close myself!! Can't wait to get there too--
On a side note, my doctor told me it was impossible to grow as an adult but I have grown about 2 inches in my adulthood! Seriously- I was 5'2" starting in middle school all through high school but I started growing again after college-I am 5'4" now confirmed my docotor measurements! Funny, huh? I bet you will make it to 5'4" too...
Thanks everyone! You're comments are really encouraging. I like the reassurance of hearing other people say I've done well-- just in case I'm trying to fool myself. Congratulations on all your losses as well! You are an inspiration, and I wish you the best of luck as you progress on your journey's.
Ailidh: That comment made me laugh giddily. I hope you don't mind, but I've commandeered it for my current status (located under my name). If you do mind, just let me know and I'll take it down.
akacutie: What do doctors know anyways? Not much these days. Congratulations on your loss, and gain (height wise). Just you wait and see, some day I'll be tall too.
Congrats!! I know what its like to be a shorty! I am only 5'3 as well!! I too am looking forward to hitting 169 so I can be in the overweight range. I need to catch up with you!! lol But great work, dont give up, keep going and motivating me!! lol

You are doing awesome. keep going, and make sure to update us with more pics as you get closer to your goal
Congrats on being overweight lol
You look great! There is a big difference.. I know it is hard to see the differences sometimes because it happens so gradually for ourselves.. but pictures make a difference in realizing how much we've changed. Great job!
