Just signed up for MRC and second guessing it.

Hi all,
I'm new to this as well as to MRC. I literally just signed up for the program today and now I'm home looking at reviews of MRC and its making me worried I made a mistake. I've been seeing a lot of reviews saying that they don't care about your weight loss just about getting your money. It was really expensive but I'm really hopeful it could work. So I guess I'm just wanting to hear from anyone who has tried it and what you think? Is it a good program? does it work?
Thanks!

You don't have to pay anyone to lose weight. Walking outside is free. Not eating cookies, cake, bread, soda, etc is free, lowering your daily calorie limit is free, this website is free...just putting it out there. Heck, you can even get free diet books at the library. Try reading Dr. Fuhrmans book about healthy eating. Good luck!

I think it depends on your personality. What they teach and counsel you on is common knowledge, you're paying for the accountability I feel. Well, and the HNSs. I told them up front I wasn't interested in supplements, and they've never pushed them. I have complained about hunger, and they suggest I add another 1 or 2 more HNSs, but I've been sticking to my 2 for the most part. My husband has lost 65 lbs since Dec 7 and I've lost 15. The plan does work when you follow and don't cheat!

I signed up yesterday myself so I am starting the pre-conditioning phase today. I feel excited and hopeful. Perhaps we can do this together? Good luck! You can do it!

MRC Review Month 1

I have been on plan for about 3 weeks now and have lost 11.5 pounds. I think the accountability for the program is what makes the difference for me. I will admit, I have gotten frustrated with my gal a couple times because conflicting info has been given, but my center is brand new and she is still learning. It's nice when managers come in from other centers and answer questions etc. Unlike other diets where you are just tracking whatever you eat, this is a pretty strict eating plan! But for me, it's all laid out and I don't have a lot of questions so I don't allow myself to waiver. I also don't crave sweets and carbs at this point, which is huge for me!

I'm glad its' working for you. I did it three times and everytime I got to maintenance they tell you to eat so many calories and that's it. I got tired of eating the same foods over and over and that's why I couldn't stay with it.
It is a good program once you start but in the end all my cravings came back.
Goodluck to you

Hi Everyone! I'm new here as well. My daughter and I just signed up for MRC this week. I'm attending our menu class tonight. I can't wait! I'm excited to be doing this and feel like it will work for me. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better!

JessEMess, I've mostly seen good reviews. I am concerned about the cost of supplements, etc. If you search the threads, there are some ideas on replacement bars, supplements, etc. that help cut the cost a bit. Most aren't exactly the same as MRC's, but they are close.

If you just buy the HNS's it's not too bad, the first year I did MRC it cost me almost $2,000.

All you are required to buy is 2 HNSs a day so if you get them at MRC - 5 boxes for $55 - 7 drinks each box would be 1.57 per drink and $22 per week.
They just quoted me $79 to rejoin for 17 weeks! So I'm going in Monday. I need the accountability. I'm on my exercise bike right now typing this on iPad. Lol! So am motivated

Wow that's good bigdog they quoted me $129 to rejoin. For $79 I would but not for $129.

I am on my second day of my second week of MRC I went from 202 to 193lbs.
I dont like the feeling of going in and out of ketosis so I am following the plan to the fullest. I am still waiting for the feelings of energy and fullness. Right now I am tired and have an ongoing headache.

Eready2Bskinnyagain 09-23-2015 02:36 PM

How are you doing a few weeks in?

selway 09-23-2015 04:24 PM

Eready2Bskinnyagain - just FYI, these threads are from earlier this year (May) and might not get a response if people have moved on or have stopped checking in regularly.
