I asked if I could just double up on broccoli, spinach, green beans, or zucchini (those are my favorite veggies anyway), but was told I needed to eat the starchy ones. I don't understand why, considering that after this week I won't eat any of them ever. I may talk with some of the other consultants at the center to see if that would be permissible ;)

Did any of you maintenance MRC'ers struggle with transition? I really feel like I just want to add a bit more of the same foods I'm already eating (of the veggies and protein, not necessarily the starches). Did you skip the starchier vegetables and just eat more of the green menu ones?

I did not struggle in transition , but I had them change many of the items on menus when I could not tolerate them, or did not like them. To this date, I eat in moderation starchy veggies, but I do eat them . For winter squash, I bake it with onions and eggplant and lots of nice herbs.. Only way I can eat it, but I love it that way. But all in all, talk to another consultant and tell her how you feel. Now that I think of it, I do not like carrots, and very rarely eat them , but hubby does, so I bake them with other hard veggies , and eat a few..

Let me know how you make out.

I took a detour, friends. I was struggling with transition, and this week has been crazy hectic and stressful. I was gaining weight (likely from stress) even though I stayed on plan with the transition menu. But, it was all too much for me. So, I've asked to go back on green menu for another 4 weeks. I was up about 3 pounds during transition and it didn't seem to want to come off...just kept creeping up. So, they suggested I drop more weight to give myself a bigger cushion. I'm feeling a lot better about things, but I know I've got to suck it up and go through transition eventually. So, allow me to wuss out and put it off for another month. I know, I'm a big chicken ;)

Ashley...

You are doing what feels right for you. When you are ready you will know it. We are all different.. You are not a big chicken at all. When you do go on transition and if you gain weight have the consultant find out why and tweek the diet for you.. That is what I did more than once. You will be fine. You are now where you are comfortable and that is what is important.

Brussel Sprouts sprayed with olive oil or olive oil Pam are so good roasted in the oven. Grilled corn- yum! Squash, zucchini, onions sautéed in a little olive oil or spray butter with cracked black pepper and sea salt rocks! Look thru the recipes on this site for a variety. The choices MRC will give you suck! (Lol! My experience anyway). You guys on this thread have helped me explore new good choices that kept me on plan. :)

Went in Friday for my first maintenance weigh in and I was down another 1/2 lb woot woot so I'm currently five lbs under my maintenance weight too Patzi, I finally made it :carrot:

patzi 06-23-2014 12:08 PM

Hey Skelley...

I am sooooo happy for you. You are doing fantastic.

I had maintenance weigh in and lost 1/2 pound putting me at 5 1/2 pounds under goal, so I will take that and run..I usually weigh in on a Tuesday, but had an appt. tomorrow, so did it today.

I was talking to a woman while waiting that lost 87 pounds.. She showed me before and after pictures... She is on maintenance , also.

It is a good program, if you work it.. If done correctly you will make it to maintenance.

Cmarty.. Glad to see you are back on program.. If you know why you gained, handle that situation and you will be on your way. Plus we are here if you run
into a problem.

Wishing y'all a great weigh in week and remember, think thin.

I have been on program for 3 weeks now and just lost 10 pounds. I do 4 HNS/day and only fish oil and multivitamins. Is losing 10 pounds in 3 weeks normal or is it too slow? Also what do you guys think about fat and card blocker?
Thank you!

raven59 06-25-2014 09:47 AM

Hi All,
I've been away for 3 weeks, youngest graduated from high school, big family gathering for that celebration, then a trip to Kauai with all 4 girls (all adults now!) and a couple of their friends, plus hubby. We back packed for 5 days and spent 5 days at the resort. I think I lost during the backpacking part and gained back what I lost during the resort time (no scale to check). I'm back home and starting the green menu today. My weigh in this morning showed no gain from my last weigh in before the trip, so I'm happy with that. Now it's time to get back on track and get to goal weight. I had a great time, but it's good to be back. I know the next week will take a lot of focus to get back in the groove, but it will be worth it!

Hello everyone. I am new, today is my first day of the blue menu. I miss the cottage cheese but everything else seems ok.

I did wake up today with a ferocious headache.

Welcome! The first two weeks are the most difficult, so don't be shy about logging on here frequently for encouragement!

Yes you are on track and doing great! I use fat and carb blocker only for an emergency. ( like when I eat something with a lot of fat)

The headache is normal once you start the diet. I think it is from not having sugar and caffeine Good luck!

Thank you cmarty for your reply. Have you tried their other herbs? MRC 6 and all? I am 21 years old and kind of scared that it would damage or do something to my metabolism or my body. Thanks in advance.

I have tried the MRC6. It seemed to help! But honestly, I had a friend who went on this diet and didn't take any of the extras besides protein drinks and she lost weight. I think a lot of that stuff is used just to make money! So if you can't afford all of that don't worry! Good luck on your weight loss!

coloradogirlatheart 06-26-2014 02:24 PM

Hi everyone!! I actually signed up for MRC last night!! I began pre-conditioning this morning. I've done MRC once before in 2010 but it was rough because my hubby was deployed to the desert and I was so stressed and didn't have the support system I have now. I stress-ate through the entire deployment and while I lost a few lbs then with MRC I was not nearly as successful as I wanted to be.

Unfortunately I was doing well recently but gained 30 lbs in THREE WEEKS on an anti-depressant!! I am of course off the med now but the damage has been done. I need the accountability and support if a program like MRC.

I look forward to getting to know you all and the support we can provide each other. Your posts so far are great and very encouraging!!

I struggled a lot with headaches initially...and back pain. The key for me was plenty of water and plenty of sleep. Don't short yourself on either. I was doing 4 HSN to begin and cut back to three to see if that helped - it did.

cmarty 06-27-2014 07:54 PM

I lost 2 pounds this week. :carrot:I was supposed to do the pre conditioning but I did Metaslim. She suggest I do pre conditioning until I lose 5 pounds. I am not really impressed with the new lady at our center. I am not sure what to do!

bigdog 06-27-2014 08:11 PM

Way to go Marty! I only liked one person at the center I used to go to and still lost weight - usually 2-3 lbs a week. Next thing I knew I was fitting into all my clothes and strutting around in a bathing suit! Seemed to go slow but took it day by day and this plan works when others were not successful.
New center opens 2nd week in July so ill rejoin then.

What are the specials? I need to lose 30-35 lbs. when I changed jobs a couple years ago, there wasn't a convenient center.
What should I expect this time around? Are they demanding you buy their HNSs and all those pills?
Approx cost?

I don't think that they demand that you buy anything but the drinks. I know a lady who was very successful with the drinks only. The start up fee is usually $ 199 for new comers! Maybe they will have a better price since this center is just opening!

When I was a member before- I ordered all my HNSs online. I used Syntrax Nectar and Protidiet Pink Lemonade (in larger containers)
Hopefully they'll let me do that again. I was drinking 4 HNSs a day. Their drinks were $13 for 7 servings.. That would be another approx $56 per week and I was already paying over $20 a week.
I do love the plan though and need to be weighed in weekly
Hopefully that will be ok :)

Weighed in today and I'm still 5 lbs under goal and maintaining! This is awesome!

Re: Supplements when I was losing weight. I would only take HNS and MRC-6 Cortitrim, and Fat & Carb Blocker . Halfway thru my weight challenge, I notice people on this forum ordered elsewhere and that is what I did. I stopped the MRC-6 and Cortitrim completely, and ordered my HNS from Diet Direct when they were on sale. That included their Cocoa. There is no exact replacement for Fat & Carb Blocker and I still take that, but only when I eat out. I take maybe one HNS a day now or none.

For you that were here when I was losing weight, you recall me having some issues with MRC and all the supplements they were pushing and I don't blame them, that is their job, and I guess that is where they make their money, but I refused and kept refusing. Told them I wanted to try without them and I stuck to my guns. My friend who is on maintenance also with MRC, told them she had medical issues and doctor said to stay off all supplements and that worked for her. Another one of my friends on MRC told them the truth, her budget would not afford all the supplements.

If I ran out of HNS from MRC, then I would buy a box till Diet Direct had them. And I buy my Fat & Carb Blocker from them.

I do believe that HNS is part of the losing weight program, and I did take them till I lost the weight, but like I said, started buying from Diet Direct when on sale. The HNS I order from Diet Direct is called Proti Diet, and I do not order the powdered , I like the concentrated gel ones.

The only difference in Nutrition facts on HNS is MRC sodium is 15 mg, Diet Direct, 5mg.
MRC Potassium 15, Diet Direct 10
Carbs are the same
Sugars the same and both are 15 g protein.

Cocoa, which is a creamy, I order from Diet Direct, and order Bari Wise Hot Chocolate.. Try the variety pack.. Some yummy flavors.. Cocoa helps my chocolate craving I may get at night. During the summer, I make cocoa during day, refridgerate it and add a slight amount of soy milk and it is a delightful cold drink.

Many take all the supplements from MRC and lost weight and are on maintenance. The choice is yours, really.

Patzi

Way to go Skelley! You can keep it off- just keep in mind how wonderful you look and feel now :). Marty - that's fantastic!!! I always seem to get the weight off and somehow slide back into my old habits and regain. I guess I get too confident and am like - oh - it's just a few bites or just a few drinks then next thing you know I'm on the couch mindlessly eating crap.

Patzi- I agree- the HNSs daily is what really helped in my weight loss because of the extra protein and kept me from over eating and gave me lots of energy. Plus they were like a dessert so I didn't miss the candy and junk I was eating. I was outside sales at the time so the HNSs were convenient ( I had a shaker bottle and always kept a cooler of ice water and powder w/ me.). The protein bars were also lifesavers and kept me from the fast food drive thrus :)
I love Diet Direct and some of the other websites because they had a bigger variety of high protein foods than MRC.
This is funny but even on vacation I lost 2 pounds and still had my cocktails daily on the beach. BECAUSE I mixed the tequila with the Protidiet Pink lemonade and lots of fresh limes! I mixed the Syntrax Chocolate Truffle w/ diet Dr Pepper and ice, blended in my Oster mini and it was just like a delish Chocolate Float :). The Syntrax Vanilla Bean with diet orange soda was like a Dreamcicle YUM! So I never felt deprived. Ok I'm ready! Ill be on plan starting tomorrow!

AshleyRae 06-30-2014 10:40 AM

Hello everyone! Long time, no log-in ;) Haha! I've readjusted my goals (tickers included) and am working on taking off about 5 more pounds.

I just wanted to address one of the HNS topics from above. I ordered a bunch from Diet Direct when I was doing this on my own and ended up paying more per box even though I bought in bulk. I don't know about other centers, but my local center always sells the boxes (7 servings) at $10/box if you buy 10 or more at a time. So, I end up getting quite a better deal at the center than I do online. Go figure. You might check with your center to see if the same deals apply.

My weight has been holding very steady between 160 and 161. Each morning I think I'll be able to see the 150s, but no just yet. I have a feeling tomorrow will be my day. WHEN (not if) that day arrives, it will be the VERY FIRST TIME I recall seeing my weight that low. Since I started noting my weight in high school, I've always been somewhere between 160 and 205, though I was as high as 232 (unless you count pregnancy, where I got up to something like 275) and stayed mainly between 190 and 200 throughout adolescence and early adulthood.

And, fun story: I've been eating lunch at the same place each week for about a year. Two ladies in there thought that I was "the skinny sister of the pregnant girl" because I've lost so much weight. They honestly believed I was someone else!!! :)

bigdog 06-30-2014 07:29 PM

Hi Ashley, congratulations!!! It took a long time for people to notice I lost weight when I was down 35 lbs 2 years ago. and some thought I was just wearing more fitted clothes ( which I was) :).
I wear a lot of black and long tops to cover booty!
What I was buying at Diet Direct is the large container of pink lemonade and hot chocolate not the individual servings- pkg of 7.
I mainly used the Syntrax Nectar (Chocolate Truffle, Roadside Lemonade, Vanilla Bean Torte, etc. ) it's 32 oz for $34 at Vitacost. 3/4 scoop is 75 cal., 1 scoop is 100 cal, 23 G protein, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 40 mg sodium, 50 mg potassium. I drank 4 HNSs a day using these and I did buy some of the puddings in individual pkgs but could never get them to gel. I also bought some of the protein soups and snacks from Diet Direct. The only soup I liked was the chicken noodle.
I like the powder because I could add ice and make it a larger serving. But each to their own and if the individual servings work better and get the weight off, it's worth it!
We are saving money not eating out as much and not buying junk.
My DH though is rebelling and bought 2 boxes of Klondike bars and just ate three. He bought them home tonight and said, oh can you have these? Am I justified by shooting him? :)
I had a big salad and grilled Mahi tonight and trying not to think about his stupid ice cream :(

Hello....

Greetings...
Today is my 2nd day on the Green Metaslim diet, 7th day overall.

Went today for my weighin... currently down 5 lbs (per their scale - 10:30 am weigh in --- I was down 6.5 per my scale first thing this morning. I am going to browse the menus, and hope to find something I can make and eat on for a few days. It is all very overwhelming.

I was curious for those that have been on the program for a while, or have done it and are returning, what you rate loss was. I know the center says 3 lbs per week... but I'm curious to what it is in reality.

Thanks! MP (Athtrnr)

ahuazz 07-01-2014 08:54 PM

Hey Athtrnr :smug:
I have been on green meta slim menu for 3 weeks now and loose average of 2.5 pounds per week. If you want a support buddy or share recipes with each other, you can always email me at fitness.ahuazz at the rate gmail dot come.
Since we both are on the same menu, it will help both of us and keep us motivated :)
Good luck :carrot:

It depends on person.. I was a very slow loser.. Many weeks I did not lose a pound, maybe .2 pounds or .5 pounds, but it all came off eventually and I made it to maintenance.. I have a friend that lost anywhere from 1-3 pounds at the beginning but she had more weight to lose than I did...
