Faerychic,
I had times like this as well. In fact, I'd have 3 weeks in a row with no loss, then I'd lose 2-3 lbs in a half week, and another 2 the next half week for 5 or so in a week. It's frustrating, I know. I agree with the suggestion to ask your counselor. What I would end up doing is changing it up a little, for example, if I was having an HNS in the mid-afternoon, we'd add having an orange or apple at that same time, or take it away (depending on if I was eating this or not). Often times, that could be enough to shake it loose again. They have other tricks too. Just a matter of perhaps the body resisting a little, so you do something a little different. Keep going, it does pay off! |
Aschooley, GREAT job on getting to onerland!!!! That is so exciting. I know when I did, I was thrilled, because I hadn't been below 200 for a couple of years before MRC, and I thought I'd never get back there.
Thanks for telling Carrie to pass on your email, I'll ask her for it and send you a note. Since we are both without a center to actually visit, having a chance to have an extra email buddy would be nice. |
Skelley,
I wanted to say "Thank You" for all the support you are giving to everyone here. I know you have your challenges, but you are figuring out what works for you and helping others along the way. Shows true character, and I wanted to recognize you for that. Keep it up, you'll get to your goal! |
So I come off pre conditioning in the morning and the more I think about it im hesitant about mrc. How hungry is/was everyone on it throughout the day???
|
SMSDREAMER, I was never hungry on plan. I found myself standing in front of the refrigerator or pantry a lot the first few months on program and kept having to stop and ask myself why I was there. As in, I knew I wasn't going to go off plan, so why was I standing there looking for something to eat? You'll have to do the work to learn to evaluate your motives and separate habits from true hunger. If you do keep with MRC, my center had some really great classes that I enjoyed. But I personally believe being on such a low cal plan for so long set my brain/body up for failure when I hit maintenance and I won't recommend the plan to anyone. Apparently I've learned from here they have better menus (I was on MetaSlim) that have more carbs and calories - I would make sure you're not going below 1200.

But certainly choosing an egg and an ounce of cheese for your protein in the morning is way more calories than 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese. So yeah - it's weird. But also keep in mind MRC is going for a ketogenic state for weight loss, which they claim is different from a straight caloric burn. Anyway, I agree with you - knowing the calories while you're doing this is definitely to your advantage and you'll be ahead of the game when you get to maintenance. I wish I'd known about MyFitnessPal beforehand. |

Just womdering. Im always sooooo full on pre conditioning like feel like thanksgiving dinner stuffed even though im only hitting 1300 calls daily on average. Sometimes as high as 1500 but usually 1292-1360 (i use mfp as well) as far as ketosis, there is actual research to back up that it burns fat waaaaay faste, its the same thing atkins, south beach and paleo all use and paleo has made leaps and bounds with peoples overall health (but i do t believe the bs bout it being primal....have you see what procolli looked like 20k years ago? Nothing like todays brocccoli)

So today Im going to stop cheating because its getting me nowhere but a larger number on the scale. :(

I had maintenance weigh in and I lost the two pounds I gained last week, so I am back to 5 pounds under goal. Sure is a challenge, but so worth it.

Got back from my apt. In looking at the menu (she only gave me one, it says level three and has most if not all of the pre conditioning menu items on it so Im assuming its the green menu the rest of you had) it doesnt look that bad. Aside from the starches, everything is an actual correct serving. Its what we SHOUKD be eating in the right amounts. In the last 20 years proportions in the states have been blown up to 4x what they were 40-50 years ago when "everyone was slim". 1/2 cup IS a serving of fruit and 4 oz for most veggies is a cup which is also a serving if you check packaging, etc. With the exceotion of lowering the protein intake and upping the starches a bit, their menus aee actually what the average american should be eating. (I studied community health/nutrition, my problem is I know the info but I need food list ideas because I always forget about stuff and the accountability is big for me too.) I'm going to try it out and see. My food intake for today looks to be about 1400 on this plus the protein drinks. They have me on 3 meals and 2 protein snacks a day.
